Meet Alex Thomas

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alex, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
As the gym has slowly grown, I find myself more and more immersed with “work”. What once felt like a clear boundary between my professional and personal life has gradually turned into a constant hustle, with only brief moments of freedom sprinkled in. Finding balance is a serious challenge , but I’m slowly learning to enjoy the hustle as much as I do time away.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I worked my way up through the gym, starting as a towel boy, then becoming a personal trainer, a general manager, and now the sole owner. It was far from easy, but if there’s one piece of advice I’d give to anyone starting a business, it’s this: Find one thing you’re great at, refine that skill, and never quit. Challenges will come, but the most important lesson I’ve learned is to stay persistent and never cut corners.
Another key lesson? Never underestimate the power of your community, no matter how small. Find your tribe, support one another, and do right by the people around you—the rest will fall into place.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In my opinion nothing beats a great dinner and drinks night in downtown Colorado Springs!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, my family and friends come mind. Running a business on your own can be challenging, and having a great team of people to turn to for support, advice, and resources has made all the difference. Beyond that, I have no doubt that I wouldn’t be where I am today without the incredible gym community I was fortunate to be a part of long before owning my own space. The same people I got to know as a front desk agent years ago are the ones still supporting me today, and that means everything.
