We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Tews and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexis, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
In the beginning, I never saw this becoming a business. Through the struggle of Covid, I found myself surrendering back into my essence. What I found there was this natural desire to create and share the healing involved with the creation. Everytime I tried to stop this journey, I was given an extra push to keep going. So I finally listened to what was being given to me and officially began my own LLC and found myself creating a new foundation for my life.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art, much like the journey through life, has transformed many times throughout the years. I always knew I wanted to make art with the intention to help heal the soul and mind. It began in 2014 with conduit crystal dreamcatchers to help heal the subconscious. Involving crystal energy healing and animal medicine. Over the past two years I began tapping deeper into the waking world and wondered how to offer this healing there too. December of 2020 I began my electroforming journey through natural elements and crystals. Every single piece of jewelry I create is entirely one of a kind and cannot be replicated. Much like the reflection of the individual journey. My work features the healing power and pure magic of nature. All pieces feature real organic and ethically sourced materials. Nature is my muse and my number one inspiration. I flow with the seasons and bring the energy at hand to life through copper plated jewlery. Each piece is created with its own pure intention and is created for one specific person. When the piece meets their owner, it feels like fireworks are going off. Through this journey I have learned the biggest lesson of surrender. It is an absolute Rollercoaster ride, but I truly wouldn’t want to be doing anything else.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Colorado is full of so many fun things to do, but Evergreen seems to have my heart. Some of my favorite hiking spots in the area are Mount Falcon, Three Sisters Park, and Maxwell Falls. There is some great food in the area too! For brunch the Blackbird Cafe and Tavern is right on Bear Creek! Twin Forks is a wonderful higher end Steak House which is open for dinner. And of course, always be sure to checkout that Red Rocks line up! Any concert there is truly magical!!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My biggest shout out goes to literally every single soul that has pushed, motivated and inspired me to keep going. Every single person that interacts with me through this channel of creation has impacted me ten fold. Every message and email sends a ripple of sunshine through my spirit. My entire family has always known I was going to do something like this and their support has been unwavering throughout my entire life. Almost every person I encounter and fully show up for truly sees and feels that genuine desire to heal.
