We had the good fortune of connecting with Alison Stanton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alison, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always talked to animals, tame and wild. My conversations have deepened now that I have honed my telepathic skills. And with my psychic training I can offer animal healings when they tell me problems. Healings they scamper over quickly to receive.

I especially like working with animals when they are leaving their bodies and transitioning out of this life. We have so much to learn about ourselves from our animals.

For the first part of my life I worked in the communications industry, producing broadcast videos, photos and writing articles and press releases. My work took me to Europe, Africa, Mexico, China and India. I lived for eight years in Africa, where I married my husband and my children were born.

But two life challenges pushed me to switch to intuitive communications.

First, in my twenties I developed an autoimmune disease that Western Medicine could not help. As the decades went by my health got worse and worse. I turned more and more to alternative practices that better addressed the root causes of my pain. Psychic healing has taught me how to protect my energetic space and how to clean out foreign energy from my body, spirit and from my home. It has saved my life.

Second, a long term parenting crisis brought me to the edge of an emotional cliff, a place I hope not many parents experience. I had to face what I really felt about life and death. I learned the limits of what I could do as a mother to help my child. It was a blessing to train to use my intuition to find my own answers. Psychic work gave me a box of psychic tools to navigate through those parenting challenges.

I welcome sharing my experience and learning with people to work through a health, parenting, financial, career, or relationship concern.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I first started offering professional readings and healings I set up a website and I worked at psychic fairs and by word of mouth. I found it easy because I am very extroverted so I loved meeting people and talking all day long! My main challenge was moving through energy in my own space that said “psychic work is not real” or that I would get hurt or in trouble for being a psychic. I have healed those ideas out of my space so I don’t feel that any more. Now I attract clients who are ready to learn and take big steps.

Animal Communications is my calling. I feel I was sent to the planet to work with animals, especially dogs. I’ve worked for decades as a volunteer, employee and foster family for the Boulder Humane Society, and I’ve been a dog sitter in my home for 15 years.

I offer psychic healing to both animals and people. An animal communication session is also about the energy of the human. Everyone gets a healing! My regular clients contact me for work on a “human” issue, not just for challenges with their animals.

Death and what happens after we die is my fascination. I learned to talk to people and animals who have passed and now offer mediumship sessions. A lifetime of managing my health issues has naturally developed my abilities as a medical intuitive for both animals and people.

My motivation to animal communications is to teach as many people as possible how to connect with animals, wild and tame. Animals are talking and we humans need to listen.

I teach multiple long courses and hour long workshops through my company Boulder Pet Psychic, which allow people to explore issues of animal communications and see what animals have to say to them individually.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Boulder so of course wed take a trip to the Pearl Street mall, have a Mediterranean food at Falafel King and people watch. Id take them up to Nederland and walk around the reservoir and go to the Natures Own shop to buy rocks. In Denver we’d go to the Denver Botanic Gardens both inside and out, including lunch at their restaurant. The Natural History Museum in Denver is the best place in the nation to see dinosaurs so wed have to go there, buying something good in the shop there. If people have never been to Colorado, I’d take them to the Colorado History Museum as well, especially the Sand Creek Massacre exhibit because it’s important that everyone understand what happened. If we had energy we’d also head to the Denver Art Museum and see a special exhibits. If it’s a nice day, we could fly a kite at Cheeseman Park near where I grew up.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am very lucky to have learned a solid foundation of tools from the Boulder Psychic Institute and the director Miwa Mack, who held the space for me as I grew my psychic skills. I learned my animal communications skills at Psychic Horizons Center of Boulder and they encouraged me to practice professionally.

My parents also were ever accepting of my natural talents and never told me to suppress them. Even when I told them the trees were talking to me.
