We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Russell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Moving to Colorado! I made the decision to move to Colorado because I was to comfortable with my life in Tennessee. If I hadn’t taken the leap to move 1200+ miles away from family and friends I definitely would not be where I am today!

In 2019 I felt like there was more for me, just not where I was. After talking with a friend about moving to new area ( Colorado was not on the list, and I had met this girl February of 2019: I moved December of 2019). She encouraged me to just move to Colorado and see if I’d like it. After about a month I said I’m in. Between meeting her in February to moving in December, we traveled about 5 times together and I came to meet her family for Thanksgiving. We all absolutely hit it off and I knew I was making a great decision.

A month before moving here I was blessed to take on a 3 year old little boy. I had no idea I needed him as much as he needed me! I dint let the fact that I was now a new mom and no family here stop me from moving. I know crazy, right?! But I did it, we did it!
The rest is history in the making!

So I want to let anyone who is doubting making a move because of fear of the unknown, just do it! If you think on it to long you’ll regret what could have been, if it doesn’t work, you will always have the experience! Chase your dreams!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In the picnic world I feel like each owner is set apart from the next. This field is all about being creative. Each individual luxury picnic business brings a unique touch to what they do, with us, we like to design each picnic we create for the occasion/ client that way no two picnics are the same.

I still have a long ways to go, but definitely social media. That and moc set ups to grab pictures. Luxury picnics are still new to the area, so when they see us set up, people always stop and ask question about what’s going on and how they can keep up with our events. For me, social media is not easy. Lol I know, hard to believe but I get bored after awhile and with promoting on social, it requires me to be on a lot more than I normally would so that is a bit of a struggle for me but I think I’m getting a little better, or I hope I am!
No, this journey has not been easy, and without my support system I would not be as far as I am today, but this is exactly what I asked for so I balance time for myself and my family and keep pushing until I see the results/ goals that I have set. I love being able to work for myself so I’m sure there will be more challenges to come but I’m ready for them!

We are still new and growing so we have learned a lot of lessons so far and hoping to learn more!

I want the world to know that I’m excited to grow and expand! We have so many exciting things that we cannot wait to share and get started on and that I appreciate all of the support you guys have given and continue to give! ❤️

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly, I haven’t had the time to explore the city how I’d like. We moved right before Covid shut down the world. I have had the chance to check out Lookout mountain, Red Rocks amphitheater, Grand Lake and a few small bars in the area.

But, if you ask about Nashville, I could go on for days! ❤️

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Dad- James “Chuck” Russell. There is literally not enough words I can say about this man! The whole inspiration behind “Let’s Have a Picnic LLC.” He always encouraged and pushed me to go after any and everything I ever wanted!

Shoutout my “GIRLS!!” I literally have the most encouraging, hard working, inspiring, caring, supportive group of friends anyone could EVER have! They are uniquely made for me and push me to be the greatest version of myself that I can be, daily! I love you ladies!

My Mom, my Son, my brothers, and my person. Thank you for supporting me with all of my crazy ideas all of these years! I love you guys the most!
