We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyssa Troncoso and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alyssa, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Being in the cosmetology industry, you see the same concepts over and over. Hair is 90% of the industry, but I wanted more. Owning this salon and making it more than just hair styling came to be by adding quality hair and body products, accessories, and gifts. For myself and my guests, my biggest concern was making my business feel welcome and comfortable. I stepped out of my comfort zone so others didn’t have to and could have the best experience possible. I wanted my guest artists to also feel right at home. Having space for guest artists encouraged the growth I desired for this salon.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In this industry, everyone and every salon is very competitive and more often than not, in a negative context. I’m unbelievably proud that my efforts to stop the ugly competitive nature has made a difference in my local setting. I want to help others grow and be the absolute best they can be. Holding the ability to comfort others and encourage them is an amazing feeling. My journey has been hard, just like everyone else trying to grow their business and make a difference in their world. My story my be ugly, but I fought everyday to get to where I am today. The saying, “ If you’re walking through Hell, why sit down?” is a daily reminder to myself that I can handle any struggle or obstacle in my way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Soak Wellness Spa is by far one of my most favorite places to visit. A soak and massage will cure anything! Fishing the Colorado River is also at the top of my list. Snagging a Cutthroat Trout is one of the best feelings.
Finishing the day by grabbing some delicious food at Amelia’s Would easily wrap up a perfect day.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve read many books in my life and I’m a huge believer in self growth. The book “48 Laws of Power” by Robert Greene had the greatest impact on myself and my life.
