We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Allen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Work life balance is something I have strived to achieve and am still working on. When starting my business, I struggled a lot with always being available. I would pull over to answer the work phone, to not miss an appointment. Being my own boss and building a brand was very hard in the beginning, and definitely not for everyone. When I opened my larger location I was able to breath a little. It is so nice having a team surrounding me and supporting the future of the business. I have learned to ask for help, and trust those who want to make Birch a success! I am now getting to the point again where I feel have more balance. It feels amazing! I am getting married in less than a month! And am ready to grow both personally and professionally!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am on a mission to build women in every way possible. Supporting women owned businesses, helping women grow in their career, and being a body positive space in the beauty industry!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Start with an amazing dinner on Larimer Square or at Buckhorn Exchange. A walk downtown to Union Station especially during the holidays. Enjoy a few nights in Estes Park and all the cute shops downtown, and a ghost tour of the Stanley. A movie at the Alamo and a night at Comedy Works is a must!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out to all of my wonderful Birchbabes! They make work fun and we are an amazing team! I would also like to give thanks to my many amazing mentors!
