Meet Amber Grob & Jenna Derosa | Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner & Licensed Professional Counselor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Grob & Jenna Derosa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amber & Jenna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Like many others, we were frustrated with obtaining services and navigating the complexities of the American health care system. Specifically mental health care, we wanted an environment where people felt clear and comfortable asking for help, scheduling appointments and getting the care they needed in an efficient way. We wanted to change the way mental health was delivered. We wanted to provide a clinic where providers felt like they were making a difference, had autonomy and financial security.
We wanted a safe space for patients to feel valued, accepted and vulnerable. We typically treat victims of trauma, so creating a place of empowerment but also calmness was important. Our clinic treats clients as people, rather than diagnoses or complexities, and work together to find mutual goals that they are proud of and comfortable working towards. We try to guide our patients as best we can with love, support and honesty.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our clinic is steadfast in our delivery of effective and affordable mental health care. We have therapy and psychiatry under one roof, which immensely helps collaboration of care for our clients. We offer a variety of services, specialties and modalities within the realms of therapy and medication management. We are most proud of the community we’ve created. We have a transparent and autonomous contract agreement with all our contractors that allow for them to be in complete control of their case load. We encourage all employees to create their own LLC’s and encourage entrepreneurial spirit. We have limited healthcare administration, so that the majority of what the clinicians earn, goes directly to them. We are also proud of the feedback we have received from our clients, its always a success when someone has made progress towards their goals, or feels more empowered or confident in themselves and life decisions. We are immensely proud of the feedback from our “employees” though we see it more as a collaborative relationship among multiple women business owners.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We try our best to support small and local businesses. Most of the items we incorporate in our clinic, furniture, art, plants, food, etc. We obtain those items from neighboring businesses. Those places include: GetRight’s Bakery, Echter’s, Little Edens, Tennyson Street Warehouse, Antiques Etc., Corvus Coffee, La Fillette Bakery, Ritualcravt, Modern Nomad, Candelaria (they have recently closed), Front Range Gardens, many sellers on Facebook Marketplace. Almost all of our furnishings are secondhand.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are multiple systems that have attributed to our success. Each organization that we were employed at gave us experiences to evaluate and implement in our own way. Every client we have worked with has impacted or efforts in building a clinic that was representative of what would be helpful. We have a number organizations that we align with to best support our clients. These have been critical in navigating resources, information, referrals and concepts of care.
