Meet Amber Helgson | Somatic Psychedelic Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Helgson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amber, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My business is deeply rooted in the belief that true healing begins with returning individuals to a state of wholeness. In today’s world, where external influences often overshadow our inner selves, we witness a pervasive fragmentation of individuals. This fragmentation, fueled by societal constructs and traumatic experiences, leaves many feeling disempowered and disconnected.
My programs are designed to address this fragmentation head-on. I understand that trauma creates a disempowered and fragmented self, making it easier for external influences to dictate our lives. By taking radical responsibility for the unconscious aspects of oneself, I facilitate a journey towards integration and embodiment.
At the heart of my approach is a unique blend of modalities including Psychedelic Plant Medicines, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Shamanism, Somatic Therapy, and Energy Work. Together, these modalities serve as tools to navigate the unconscious mind and bring it to the forefront of consciousness.
Through this integrative approach, individuals are empowered to reclaim their authentic selves and live life consciously. By addressing the root causes of fragmentation and guiding individuals towards wholeness, I contribute to a community and a world where individuals are more empowered, aware, and connected. My mission is to facilitate personal transformation that ripples outwards, fostering a more conscious and harmonious world for all.

What should our readers know about your business?
As a Colorado Somatic Psychedelic Life Coach, my approach to coaching is both innovative and transformative. What sets my practice apart is the unique blend of modalities I integrate, including Shamanism, Psychedelic Plant Medicine, Somatic Therapy, NLP, and Energy Work. This holistic approach allows for a comprehensive wellness journey that addresses the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical aspects of one’s being.
Bridging science and spirituality is at the core of my practice. While I provide evidence of the benefits of plant medicine, I also work with clients on a spiritual level, recognizing that we possess multiple bodies – spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical – all interconnected and equally important in the healing process.
My journey to where I am today has been shaped by my own experiences with trauma and healing. Everything I offer my clients is rooted in personal experience and the profound transformations I’ve witnessed. While creating my own business presented its challenges, I’ve been fortunate to have a dedicated following and growing support network.
A significant lesson I’ve learned along the way is the importance of meeting people where they are on their journey. Not everyone is ready for the level of accountability or understanding I provide, and that’s okay. My role is to support individuals wherever they are in their healing process, without judgment or expectation.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I am on this journey alongside my clients. I don’t claim to have all the answers or be superior in any way. We are all teachers and learners, walking our unique paths together. Each individual’s journey is beautiful and worthy of compassion and celebration. My mission is to empower others to embrace their uniqueness, find healing, and joyfully navigate their own journeys of self-discovery and growth.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting the area for a week-long trip, I’d want to show them the best time ever! Here’s a little itinerary of where I would take them:
Day 1: We would start our journey at Root Down, my absolute favorite restaurant in the Denver area, where we’d indulge in flavorful dishes and catch up over a delicious meal. Afterward, we’d head to the Honey Elixir Bar for some non-alcoholic delights, exploring new tastes together.
Day 2: We’d spend the day at the Denver Botanic Gardens, immersing ourselves in the beauty of nature as we stroll through lush gardens and take in the sights and scents around us. In the evening, we’d venture to Meow Wolf or the Museum of Illusions for a mesmerizing and immersive experience.
Day 3-5: The adventure continues as we journey to the southern mountains of Colorado. We’d start in the charming town of Ouray, exploring its historic streets and soaking in the rejuvenating waters of its hot springs. Next, we’d make our way to the majestic vistas of Telluride, where we’d embark on outdoor adventures and immerse ourselves in the vibrant cultural scene. Finally, we’d head to Steamboat Springs for more outdoor fun and exploration.
Day 6: We’d cap off our trip with a memorable camping experience on the back side of Guenella Pass, nestled beneath the stars and surrounded by the serenity of the wilderness. It would be the perfect way to reflect on the incredible memories we’ve made throughout the week.
In my view, some of the most fun, interesting, and exciting places to check out include Root Down and the Honey Elixir Bar for delicious food and unique drinks, the Denver Botanic Gardens for a peaceful and immersive nature experience, and Meow Wolf or the Museum of Illusions for mind-bending and captivating exhibits. And of course, exploring the southern mountains of Colorado offers endless opportunities for adventure and discovery, from charming towns to breathtaking landscapes.
But our adventure doesn’t end there. We set our sights on the southern mountains of Colorado, eager to explore new towns and landscapes together. From the charming streets of Ouray to the majestic vistas of Telluride and the outdoor adventures of Steamboat Springs, we relish in the freedom of the open road and the shared excitement of discovery.
As we find ourselves nestled beneath the stars on the back side of Guenella Pass, we reflect on the memories we’ve made and the bond that has grown stronger with each passing moment. It’s moments like these, shared with a cherished friend, that make life’s adventures truly unforgettable.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to my Mom, Teresa Helgeson. Her unwavering support and encouragement to pursue my own healing journey and live authentically connected to myself have profoundly shaped my life in countless ways.
I also want to extend heartfelt appreciation to my best friend, Justina. Witnessing your own journey of healing has been an incredible honor, and your presence during some of my darkest days has been a source of immense strength. Your unconditional love and unwavering support mean the world to me, and I am endlessly grateful for your friendship.
Lastly, I want to acknowledge Abuelito and the Jaguar people, especially Rex. The medicine and wisdom you carry have forever transformed my life. It is a profound honor to carry forward your lineage and share this medicine with the world for the healing of our planet. I am deeply aligned with your vision and mission, and I am forever grateful for the opportunity to walk this path alongside you.
