We had the good fortune of connecting with Amelia Fries and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amelia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Everbee is a permanent jewelry passion project that started out of a care for people and for enjoying the simple treasures in life.

I am a pretty simple girl who loves to enjoy the little things in life. For me that’s family time, good coffee, yard sales, and crafty things that make people feel good!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
One of my values is to provide a fun experience for every customer. For example, my full selection of chain is all set at one base price which allows the customer to be able to pick and choose whichever chain they love!

This has allowed me be more intentional with the limited time I have with them, rather than focusing on prices & measurements. It has also lead to some pretty cool friendships and stories along the way!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Besides Target and Starbucks?? 🙂

I’ve only been in Colorado for 4 years and have 3 young kids that keep me plenty busy (haha), but in that time these are some of the great people I’ve met and places I’ve been that I would totally recommend to anyone to check out and support!

Great friends doing cool things:

• Salt & Acres – Danielle & Justin have created a little slice of paradise out in Fort Lupton, CO! My friend and I could have great conversations over great wine and cocktails with tons of entertainment options throughout the year.

• Josephine & Grace – Angel has become a great friend & mentor! They’re located out in Fredrick, CO, and would be a great place to take a friend to find some unique treasures to bring back home with them.

• Vintrey Honest Goods – The family & staff there are some of the sweetest people ever! You can find them out in Old Town Lafayette, and they specialize in high quality vintage finds (local and literally from all over the world!) and have a huge passion to support local artists from the area.

Favorite places to eat/drink:

• Community – Also located in Old Town Lafayette, this place has never disappointed. Seasonal menus so you always get something different and special.

• 24 Carrot – Found in downtown Erie, CO this place has fantastic cocktails and a full farm-to-table menu. It’s a fun date night spot we’ve enjoyed.

• Otis Coffee – A good location to bring a friend to talk over some great coffee.

• Acreage by Stem Ciders – Beautiful views of the mountains, and their frozen hard ciders are amazing!

Fun things to do w/ kids:

• Denver Zoo – Super cool animals, we love to pet the stingrays at Stingray Cove, and make sure you go on the Conservation Carousel!

•Butterfly Pavillion – Unique experience where you enter a tropical habitat full of all kinds of butterflies! Our kids loved it, 10/10

• Anythink Library – The kids area is top-notch, always something to find for the kids and for you. They also host fun activities for the kids year-round.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to shout out my two best friends back in California who continue to encourage me to pursue this crazy passion project.

From helping me believing in myself, to having confidence in my ideas and my abilities, and to pushing through and being different from the crowd! I truly believe we all have something unique to bring to the table, and that there is plenty of room in this world for everyone to pursue what they’re passionate about. Community over competition always wins!!
