We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Reczek and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amy, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Authenticity. “People do business with those they know, like, and trust”. I can have all the knowledge in the world on what I do however if I am not relatable or real it doesn’t matter because I cannot reach my audience. People like and are attracted to others who are similar (similarity-attraction effect), keeping true to me and showing my personality creates conversation and opens the door. The success of my brand is letting the world in on who I am.
What should our readers know about your business?
Through Speaking engagements, Masterclass, and Consulting I work with organizations and people to create success by mastering interpersonal skills is my passion. How we communicate with our colleagues, clients, and customers is vital and the key ingredient to sustaining and growing business. I had effective and needed training during my time in corporate sales however there was always a missing piece. Early on I started taking note of how I was communicating and what created a spark when talking to potential clients. As it turns out, this is why I love sales and culture in businesses. The art of communication and connecting is my niche. Within two seconds we make a snap judgement about another person. Do we like them? Do we trust them? Do we want to do business with them? ….76% of the time our snap judgement is accurate. And a professionals confidence is the most influential factor ( over skill set and reputation) in earning a potential clients trust. This is powerful! This idea that business is all about the product and the sale is inaccurate. Business is all about the relationship. It’s about the people. It’s about communication. How much more success could we have as professionals if we also focused on the influence that our people skills could have in business? I put my psychology degree, 17 years of sales experience, and training from the Science of People (they study nonverbal communication and the impact it has….game changer) together and created my company. I now work with companies and individual teaching them what was that missing piece for me. Getting people to think differently on how they go about doing business and seeing “ah ha” moments is exciting! We all can learn people skills, most of us just haven’t been given the resources or tools to work on it. Learning how to communicate with confidence and presence makes you the memorable one, the one they want to do business with. It is the power in HOW we communicate that creates meaningful relationships and long lasting success.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So excited to share some of this beautiful state with you! Let’s dive into all the happenings… We would take two day trips. First up, a day in Vail. You can’t beat the crisp air, walk by the river, and all the shops. Second trip would be to the Royal Gorge, because who doesn’t love a theme park at the center of a massive bridge and then going to the local winery. The rest of the time would be around town. A few top spots: *Botanic Gardens *Red Rocks Amphitheater *Museums *Larimer Square *Confluence Park & Millennium Bridge *Crush Walls in RiNo *Nocturne Jazz. Along the way an endless amount of fabulous places to eat and drink.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout! So many people have had an impact and influence throughout my career. I would not be here if it was not for the mentoring of many leaders, clients, and influencers while I was in corporate. I am not a natural at entrepreneurship. Starting the business was the easy part, keeping it going is hard. I am grateful for the personal board of directors (Do you have one of these? Best thing for your success…tap into your people) I have now to keep me going, give me advice, brainstorm with me, and be real with me when I need it.
