We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrew Faires and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrew, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Personal accountability.
When you start your own business there is no one to tell you what, when or how to do all the things required to operate a business. You need to make sound decisions and hold yourself accountable to the outcomes of the business, because the health, growth of the business and success of your employees all depend on your inputs and direction. Holding yourself to a high level of personal accountability helps build a strong foundation and enables a culture of personal accountability. Own your mistakes and hold yourself accountable, so others don’t need to hold you accountable.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Pasture Provisions is farm-to-door subscription delivery service featuring grass-fed, pasture-raised and wild-caught proteins of the highest quality and animal welfare standards. Our philosophy at Pasture Provisions is “You Are What You (M)eat”, which is the belief that we should be eating animal proteins and vegetables that are fed their natural food sources and never given GMO feed, growth hormones, pesticides, or other nasty stuff.
Our food system has been taken over by Big Ag and Big Biz, which often leverages science more than nature and a global supply chain to create its outputs. While it may sound like David versus Goliath, there is a growing movement of health and environmentally focused consumers who are voting with their wallets for truly natural and local food options. The challenge for many of these consumers has been access to their local food chain outside of seasonal farmers markets and CSAs, which is one of the gaps we strive to fill by providing year round access to local and sustainable food from small farms.
Founded in 2017 we have had our share of challenges and blessings along the way. What we have found is that there is a generous network people who are happy to help and make connections such as; we needed a new space to meet our growing customer demands and our industry connections started calling around for us and making introductions, or we need help developing more scalable tools and processes and our business consultant make a connected us with the right people to integrate our tools. Our professional network, friends, family and neighbors across Denver have been abundantly giving, and we strive to equally give back.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We must first thank our spouses for their support during our journey over the past four years. Late nights, weekends, and the ups and downs of starting a business don’t only put stresses on the Founders, but on their families. Without the support our of our families we couldn’t balance all the business and personal demands.
Nick Phelps at Cultivate Advisors helped bring a wealth of experience around our specific business model and helped us build better processes and tools optimize our operations and finances.
All of our farm partners. Their dedication and focus on improving the quality of the land and animals they raise inspires us to help improve our food system and represent their hard work through our service.
