We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Vargas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
To trust! I think this probably goes without saying, but in order to decide to work on your own you have to trust not only yourself but also the Universe, God, Divine Source or however you want to call it. Believe that you are worthy of doing things on your own and you don’t need to be working a 9-5 to live the life that you want, believe that it is possible to create all of what you envision and that is not easy. Especially when, like me, you decide to take a 180 degree turn with your career. I obtained my law degree in 2018 and then decided it was not what I wanted and ended up studying coaching, Reiki and a lot of energy healing techniques that filled my heart and life with joy.

What should our readers know about your business?
Angela Vargas is born from the desire to provide a support system to people that are ready and eager to go inward and find answers, rather than trying to find answers from the external world. Angela Vargas – GOING INWARD – provides different types of sessions where people connect deeper to themselves through guided meditations, mindfulness exercises, Reiki and more.

I think that every person has unique talents to offer to the world and make it a better place… And that is what sets us apart from others. Nobody will ever do things exactly like “Angela Vargas” does, because I have my own unique personality, my own unique connection to my clients/friends or people who come to me. What sets me apart from others is that I am authentic and genuine, I am not afraid to be vulnerable and real, I do not pretend to fix your life, I set my intention in helping you connect with your own power, with your own healing energy and I am by your side the whole time! I care deeply about every person that comes to me and I never leave them alone during their journey.

Business-wise speaking, I got to where I am by first doing my part (I could not be here without having gone through my own healing journey), then by being consistent and just keep going even when I was afraid of the outcome, I got to where I am, by first going down my own healing path and then genuinely connecting to the people that have come to me and trusted me with their process because it has been their satisfaction with my work that has brought more and more people to me as they have spoken about their experiences with me with their friends and families and that has made them come to me as well. It has not been easy because as everything in life, it has its ups and downs. When you’re doing this type of work, you’re holding space for people that often times are going through really hard situations, it’s a really emotional work and the hardest part is that it connects you to your own shadow and the things you’ve had to work on or still have to work on. I have learned to face these challenges by allowing myself to be as human as possible! I cry when I need to, I get angry or upset and I never try to avoid feeling these things, I apply the tools that I would give my clients/friends and then keep going! Having a business is a rollercoaster, there are days where you just don’t want to do anything at all, lose direction, etc, the main thing, in my opinion, is to go back to WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO DO THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE? Bring that vision back and it will absolutely help you get back on track!

If I had to choose only one thing that I am really proud and excited about, is the fact that I stopped listening to my logical mind that kept telling me I wasn’t good enough to be doing this and instead, decided to listen to my heart that had been screaming for me to put my skills out there and start serving the world the best way I could and knew how to! I am super excited about all of the unknown that is yet to come and I am super excited about another branch of this beautiful project that I’m creating, which will be focused specifically on mothers and babies or young children.

I think the lessons that I have learned along the way with my brand have been countless. One of the biggest ones has probably been to always put myself first and that’s a message that I would like for everyone to keep in mind always. In order to be of service to others, in order to be able to guide or accompany other throughout their journeys, you must put yourself first. You cannot pour from an empty cup! Many times, as entrepreneurs and/or empathic beings, we tend to want to help everyone and do everything at once. Nothing will ever be more important than your health and well being, so make sure to always give yourself first before you give to others!!

If I could share anything with the world about myself and about my brand, it would be the fact that my main goal is to be there for people to really go inward, to connect with their deepest truth (which might not necessarily always be nice due to the fact that we are all light AND shadow). I am a mother, a wife, a sister, a cousin, a teacher and even a lawyer! So I am just as human as anyone else that comes to me seeking for guidance or “help”. In fact, my business started after a very painful situation back in 2019 when my husband and I went through a miscarriage and it completely shifted our realities and everything we thought to be true.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I currently live in Fort Collins, Colorado.

So, first things first! We would go to downtown and walk as much as we can so that you can really get a feel for this beautiful city!!

I would definitely bring you to Horsetooth Reservoir, a nice, peaceful environment where we get to connect with nature and just be!

There are a lot of trails to hike here in Fort Collins, and while I do not know their names since I am fairly new to the area, I would definitely love to bring you to some of them! There are also beautiful parks such as the beautiful City Park, Fossil Creek and many more!! If you also want to make your inner child really happy, we will absolutely go to the Discovery museum!

We would go to Lory State Park, a beautiful place where we get to connect with nature as well, be ourselves, talk and maybe even see some wild life!

We would also go to Denver, to visit the famous amphitheater, Red Rocks!

And while we’re at the whole nature aspect, we would definitely go to the Rocky Mountain National Park since it’s only about an hour drive!!

In terms of food, we would definitely go to the Taj Mahal, an Indian restaurant where they serve the most delicious food and chai in town!! We would also go to Tasty Harmony for some delicious vegan treats (their desserts are AMAZING!), we would go to a local bakery that I love, called Retreat Bakery Bar.

Now as for drinks, Fort Collins is known for its artisanal breweries, but I do not drink so… I wouldn’t know the best one, however, we could still go to some!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are many people that have had my back and helped me take that leap of faith and finally trust my abilities enough to start my own business and support other people’s healing or self discovering journey. If I mentioned them all, I would never finish the list, but, I do thank all my masters, teachers, my family and friends… However, the shoutout goes to my husband, for seeing through me since day one and recognizing my abilities even before I ever did!
