Meet Anne Gillaspie | Agency Owner and Chief Brand Strategist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anne Gillaspie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anne, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Back in 2014 I had just ended my corporate career as a national brand manager, traveling 50%+ across North America and really feeling clueless about what my next move would be. I resigned thinking I wanted to interview for work on the agency side but then nothing was exciting. We were in the beginning steps of wanting to start our family but nothing was clear. After a move from Denver to Austin, the new community brought about the idea that I should start my own branding agency. I never thought I wanted to be a business owner; in fact, I was terrified of that idea. After taking a few months off, I realized I could do it with the right support. In March of 2014 I founded AG Brand + Marketing, which became a legal entity in July, and then rebranded to Fix & Form | Strategic Branding Agency in 2021. The past decade has been exactly what I intended it to be, work that allowed me to choose when I would stay busy and when I needed a break as we raise three babies into children and grew both our family and my brand. In building my agency, I also grew my confidence, my capacity, and my thirst for new energy around the same work I’ve been doing for ages. I love what I get to do every day while also parenting three amazing kids with my husband.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Fix & Form we breathe life into brands. You’re stepping into the world of your own brand experience. But instead of feeling pride, you’re greeted with a logo that doesn’t speak to who you are anymore, copy that isn’t accurate, and a story that leaves the reader confused or unamused. It’s like wearing a pair of jeans that no longer fit – it’s uncomfortable and it’s not how you want to present yourself to the world.

You’re eager to grow, to evolve, but time is a luxury you don’t have. Between running your business and managing day-to-day tasks, where do you find the time to reinvent or create your dream brand experience?

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would start at Queen City Coffee and then head up into the foothills for some of my favorite hiking trails. Then we would head into Idaho Springs for lunch, and then over to Bread just up I-70 for an afternoon cocktail out on the deck. Come back to our cozy spot in Denver for rest and chill time. Then get dolled up to head out to Rino for delicious food and then some post-dinner drinks and dancing at Milk Bar or 1134 in the club district.
