We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Adamsky and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anthony, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I always knew I wanted to do something in the creative field. From a child, I was constantly drawing and creating that I thought I would want to do something like that in the adult life. I put myself through 4 years of architecture school then dropped out because I didn’t want to be behind a computer forever. So then I decided to start my stained glass journey and now 4 years later I love it. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love my mix of whimsical and traditional styling of stained glass. I will always appreciate the roots of the history of glass work but love making the silly stuff. The past 4 years have been filled with trails and errors, finding my style. I will forever be thankful to the people who bought my art when it wasn’t polished or perfect and helped me get to where I am now. As a queer artist I like to mix in some queerness into the pieces as well.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would say they have to eat at City o City and catch a show at black box. Favorite place outside the city is elderado canyon, such a magical and amazing every. I really check creatively charged from the mountains so much. Also go to the botanical gardens, I can wonder there for hours and get inspired by all the amazing plants.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Both of my sisters, Rachael and Savina, were my rocks. Also my ex partner Stephen helped me through the whole start and journey. They encouraged me throughout the whole process and believed in me when I didn’t have the confidence. They were there for the begining markets where I would sell maybe one piece and talked me up to get me to believe in myself again.
