We had the good fortune of connecting with Averina Singh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Averina, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks has allowed me to constantly stay challenged and evolving. Doing something that you’ve never done before and where the result is maybe unknown keeps you curious and able to create trends rather than follow them.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Since I can remember, I’ve dedicated myself to advancing dance music in Downtown Orlando. I’m inspired by diverse cultures and communities, fueling my passion as a DJ to create safe spaces for people to dance. Through my travels and connections, I’ve woven everything I love into my project.
I’m thrilled about my upcoming endeavors. I’m organizing events across Florida to showcase the state’s diverse talent. The journey hasn’t been easy, but through my trials, I’ve learned to transform pain into self-love and creativity. My brand merges timeless music with innovative sounds.
Inspired by Bristol culture, I strive to expand my audience’s ears with music that’s not just for dancing, but also for feeling and thinking. I pride myself on breaking boundaries and thinking outside the box to create new soundscapes.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you are coming on a date with me we are starting the evening at our local vintage shop in the Milk District, Etoile. Then we go and pick out records at Remix Record Shop in the Mills District. Working our way back to the Milk District we stop at Tori Tori for a coconut cocktail & delicious tapas. To end, we dance the night away at Iron Cow & come back to my music studio to wind-down with yoga, ambient sounds, & astrology.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am guided by sound and the stars. Through music & spirituality, I have met some of the most inspiring people. My mother, Maya Valdivia, my best friends Spring Collings, Mila Gamarra, & Jose Cardona are all beautiful people who have helped me flow through the journey of life.
