We had the good fortune of connecting with Beth Park and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Beth, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I spent 11 years working at a large insurance-based physical therapy clinic in the DTC area. During my last five years there, it became increasingly difficult to get insurance companies to approve the number of visits patients truly needed. At the same time, expectations kept rising—we were asked to see more patients in less time. I’ve always loved physical therapy, but I started to feel disillusioned with the system.

Eventually, I left for a sales job while continuing to treat a small number of patients out of my home. It was my husband who encouraged me to take a leap of faith and return to physical therapy full time—this time on my own terms. My goal is simple: to provide patients with the care, time, and attention they deserve.

What should our readers know about your business?
What Makes ParkCity PT Different

At ParkCity PT, I believe the only way to solve a problem is to truly understand it. That’s why every initial visit begins with a conversation—we sit down and talk through the history of your injury or pain so I can fully understand your experience. From there, I complete a thorough physical evaluation to establish objective benchmarks we can use to track progress. Just as importantly, I make sure that every patient feels comfortable with their treatment plan.

Life is busy, and physical therapy doesn’t need to be complicated. I design exercise programs that fit into each patient’s lifestyle and match the time they’re realistically able to commit to recovery. Every injury is different, and every person’s life is unique. My goal is to give patients the tools and confidence they need to manage their recovery independently.

Too often, our healthcare system feels fractured—there’s little continuity of care and limited collaboration between providers and patients. At ParkCity PT, my mission is to create a space where patients feel truly heard. One of the first things you learn in physical therapy school is that if you listen carefully, your patient will often tell you exactly what’s wrong. This is especially true with orthopedic and sports-related injuries. By listening, evaluating, and adjusting as needed, I work to empower patients with a clear roadmap to recovery. And if that plan needs to be tweaked or completely course-corrected along the way, we do that together.

Starting my own business has taught me some valuable lessons. First, you don’t know what you don’t know—so the more conversations you have and the more perspectives you consider, the more opportunities you create. Second, there’s always something new to learn. Approaching the world with curiosity and an open mind often leads to unexpected discoveries and growth.

Looking ahead, I’m excited about the future of ParkCity PT. I envision growing the practice and bringing on additional providers who share the same philosophy: patient-centered care, thoughtful listening, and empowering people to take charge of their health.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
With two small kids, I like to think of myself as a bit of a playground connoisseur. We’d probably start the day at either Westlands Park or Clement Park, then head out for tacos and ice cream. Our go-to spot is Tacos & Tequila in Southglenn (the birria taco is a must-try), followed by a sweet treat right next door at Heaven Creamery.

No trip to Colorado is complete without some time outdoors, so hiking is always high on my list. A few of my favorite spots include:

Daniel’s Park — the perfect place for a sunset drive.

Royal Arch Trail in Boulder — a classic Colorado hike with incredible views.

Mt. Falcon — a challenging but rewarding workout.

And if time allows, it’s hard to resist a trip to the mountains—beautiful year-round. Our favorite towns are definitely Vail and Steamboat Springs. On a recent trip, we toured the ARGO Gold Mine in Idaho Springs, which was fascinating and something I’d absolutely recommend.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to recognize my husband, James. Without his encouragement and belief in me, I would never have taken the leap of faith to start my own business. His steady support has allowed me to return to doing what I truly love.

I also want to thank my patients. Every patient has a story, and I am the practitioner I am today because of the trust they have placed in me—sharing not only their pain but also their journeys. Walking alongside them as they return to active, fulfilling lives has been one of my greatest honors.

Finally, I am deeply grateful to my parents for their unwavering support and encouragement. A special thank you goes to my father, an incredible physician, who taught me by example that patients are family. His tireless dedication—at every hour of the day and night—showed me what it truly means to care for a community.
