We had the good fortune of connecting with Beth Warmath and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Beth, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was raised in the country, rode lots of horses, 4 wheelers, and explored the lakes and woods of Tennessee. I never dreamed of painting but I always loved to create from nature. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from the University of Memphis and worked for two large corporations as a graphic designer. After moving to Florida my color palette got much brighter and I started making art and painting residential murals on the weekend. Getting bored with the corporate scene I went back to school for my teaching certification. I taught elementary art for 10 years which morphed into public art and large scaled murals in commercial and residential areas. I now live on the west coast of Florida and work full-time as a professional mural artist and teach students about public art and the process.
I love painting and transforming areas with bright, beautiful colors, working with the community and creating a landmarks. I love tropical colors, wildlife, textures, and unusual insects. I’ve been blessed to paint 4 murals in Colorado, two in Fraser and two with Adams County “Love My Trail” mural project in Thornton, Colorado. I hide a heart in all my mural because I love what I do and hope it makes people happy when they see them. <3

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love large scale murals and the challenges they bring. Large scale murals are physically demanding…. moving heavy scaffolding, ladders, and 5 gallon buckets is not for everyone. I have an all girl crew, not on purpose, but we set up everything and we’re certified for heavy equipment. I enjoy the exercise. I call it YogART. hahaha I started from the bottom, not making much money but I worked really hard to get up the ladder. I could’ve easily stayed in a corporate office making a good, steady income but I really love the physical work of painting. Every job is different and has it’s own challenges. Some times its dogging wasp, working over pricky bushes, ceilings or 3 story buildings but I love it.
Painting is actually the easiest part of the mural. There is a lot more to being a muralist than just the painting. One day I’d like to paint in other countries, with the community, and showing them the power of art, an international language, to bring peace and unity.
Three years ago I started murals on a mission, collecting art supplies for kids in need. I hope to start a resource center to help other through art.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I have a mural map www.WarmathWalls.com

In Denver I’d take them to the Rhino District, Meow Wolf, several dispensaries, the mountains, hiking, Red Rock, and Devil’s Thumb Ranch.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My art community and all the amazing artist that have showed me the way. I appreciate the love and encouragement from the communities and my collectors. I love to make art and feel very lucky to make it a career.
