Meet Brad Kuhn

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Brad Kuhn again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Brad, thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
Wow, so much has evolved since our first interview! Finding Nectar has truly blossomed in the last three years. Our farm has grown into a vibrant community space, complete with goats, chickens, alpacas, and barn cats—all of which add a unique charm to the experience and help us spark conversations about pollinators. We’ve also expanded our efforts to provide detailed information about our plants, particularly native species, with the goal of becoming a leading resource for Colorado native plants in the Front Range.
Our focus remains steadfast on supporting pollinators by offering plants tailored to their needs. With over 950 species of bees in Colorado—and more than half facing threats or endangerment—we’re passionate about encouraging everyone to make a difference by planting just a few more pollinator-friendly plants in their yards. Small actions can create a big impact, and together, we can support these vital species.
One of our proudest moments recently was winning the Broncos Business Boost award in January. Standing at Mile High Stadium to receive the award was an incredible honor, and we’re thrilled to collaborate with the Broncos to amplify our mission.
So, whether you’re looking for beautiful pollinator plants or just a fun outing, we’d love to see you this spring—either at the farm or at one of the farmers markets we’ll be attending!

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
This journey has been nothing short of remarkable, and there’s no better way to put it. It’s had its good, bad, and downright challenging moments, but honestly, I wouldn’t change it for the world. My passion for helping pollinators remains at the heart of everything we do.
When we opened our doors at the farm, we started with a greenhouse that, unfortunately, was flattened by a 90-mile-per-hour windstorm just three weeks before our grand opening. That moment set the tone for what we were about to face—a realization that this journey wouldn’t be easy. And while it hasn’t been, the incredible people and community we’ve built along the way have made it all worthwhile. From our volunteers to our employees, everyone here shares a vision of making the farm a place of healing. It’s not just about the plants and pollinators; it’s about creating a space where visitors can come to relax and reconnect. Seeing people find peace and joy here has been one of the most rewarding aspects of this journey.
We’ve also been fortunate to take our mission beyond the farm by participating in various farmers markets and events. These opportunities allow us to educate others about what we do at Finding Nectar and inspire them to support pollinators in their own ways.
As for the year ahead, progress continues to evolve at Finding Nectar. This year, instead of focusing on physical expansion—like building new greenhouses or enlarging our sales area—we’re shifting our efforts toward growing and diversifying our plant offerings. We’re excited for customers to visit and see something new, with a wider selection of plants in smaller pot sizes. It’s all about creating meaningful growth that benefits both pollinators and our community.
We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?

Life is often about tough choices – can you talk to us about your thought process, strategy or philosophy when it comes to making difficult choices or tradeoffs.
Tough choices are exactly that—tough. Over the past year, I’ve learned that while your choices matter, what’s equally important is your commitment to them once they’re made. It’s crucial to give yourself the time you need to weigh your options, but once you’ve decided, let it go. Don’t dwell on regret, because constantly wondering if the other decision might have been better will only make the next choice more difficult.
The confidence you gain from committing to a decision and not looking back is incredibly liberating. It allows you to truly move forward. Does this mean your decision can’t ever be wrong? Of course not. But it does mean that once you’ve made your choice, you take back the power the decision-making process held over you. Don’t sit in the “what ifs.” Let go, move on, and trust in your ability to adapt and grow from whatever comes next.
