We had the good fortune of connecting with Breanna Harden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Breanna, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risks has been one of the many blessings in my life. To take a risk is to step into the unknown. In the pool of uncertainty, there is opportunity. And you will not have the opportunities that can change your life for the better unless you take that risk. To grow into the person you want to be, you must begin by stepping out of your comfort zone. The path I am on now is because of the risks I have taken. Going to the places I have and doing what I do, I don’t let myself linger on the “what if’s” but rather “what’s on the other side?”
By not taking risks, you stay complacent. Life becomes repetitive and predictable. And I personally don’t find or feel growth in that. I don’t find fulfillment. Taking the risk gives me just that.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am opening my business of mindset coaching soon, and in the future will be a holistic health coach whilst being a yoga instructor. I hope to add sound healing and reiki to my practices. Currently I like to show myself as an advocate for living your best life. I want to show you that the life you want is attainable and you have the capacity to obtain it. We are all worthy of living the lives we love.
I have been told by many people in my life that what I do is inspiring. And that makes me feel very proud of myself. Friends see me travel all over, and because of that they embark on their own travels or make that move they always wanted to do. That is my goal, to inspire others to go out there and live. Chase after that dream.
When you realize all of the love and support you have, you have more faith in yourself to pursue these dreams. When you realize the doubts and disbelief that others shed on you, it becomes fuel to that fire within. It becomes determination and motivation. That is how it was for me. Those are the things that gave me the push to just do the things I wanted to do. And it felt so good to actually do them. Whether that be to travel, quit a job you hate and start one you love or start your own business, to move away and live in a place that is home to you.
During all of these endeavors, you realize you have everything you need within. You become aware of your capabilities and the inner compass we all have that is known as intuition. When you tune in to that inner compass, you are guided on the path you are meant to embark on in this life. And you will learn many things on that journey. You will make mistakes, but you will also learn and do better next time. That is part of taking risks—you will fall over and over again, but what matters is that you get back up every time and learn why you fell in the first place so you can avoid that in the future.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In the past month I have recently moved from Louisiana to Colorado, which is something I have always dreamed of. I am now in the quaint town of Loveland which is part of northern Colorado. So far my favorite hang out spot is on Boyd Lake! Such a wonderful area to go for long walks and take in the view of the Rockies by a lake. My friends know that I love spending my free time in coffee shops, and so I have found quite a few that I adore here! If you like a small cozy, hole in the wall feel then The Muse Coffee & Tea is the place to go. Feeling a little fancy? FeelLove Coffee in downtown is the perfect fit. Low-key and chill, yet aesthetically pleasing with quality roast? Dark Heart is the one for that. There are plenty of other gems in downtown Loveland that I have yet to discover and explore, and about 25 minutes away is downtown Fort Collins which transports you into a Hallmark Movie during the winter months. All of the trees are wrapped in warm lights and there are a plethora of shops, restaurants and bars to explore.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family and friends for always supporting me in my crazy pursuits in this life. Too many books to mention that have helped me open my eyes to a different perspective on life that quite frankly changed the trajectory of my life.
And last but not least, the love I have for myself knowing I am worthy to feel the adrenaline of feeling alive.
