We had the good fortune of connecting with Brenda Fuller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brenda, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The idea for Outworld Brewing began from our desire to offer a defiantly different brewpub experience, one that would fuse beer, food and a unique dining experience using Sci-fi/ Fantasy themes and events. Our goal is four fold 1) to brew two lines of Belgian and American-style craft ales and lagers that enlighten and transport the drinker, 2) to contribute exceptional quality culinary offerings and unique food and beer pairings to Colorado’s gastronomic landscape; 3) to purvey rare goods and to enlighten with rare knowledge; and 4) to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the people of, and visitors to, Weld county, Longmont, Boulder, Denver and surrounding areas. exceptional quality culinary offerings and unique food and beer pairings to Colorado’s gastronomic landscape.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are passionate about craft beer, great food and Sci-fi/ Fantasy. We chose sci-fi/ fantasy as the foundation on which to build a unique dining experience. Science fiction is the perfect “canvas” on which to generate speculative and imaginative experiences and doing so supports our mission to provide an engaging and fun dining atmosphere. We are a destination for fun! Our event calendar is full and we offer something for everyone–cosplay events and contests, beer release parties, Sci-fi/Fantasy-themed book club, film and philosophy nights, trivia, sci-fi-themed dinner theater, and music nights, featuring everything from lo-fi to jazz.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would spend an afternoon in Niwot, it is a charming little town and great places to shop and eat. During the summer months, Rock & Rails in whistle Stop Park is a nice place to chill and listen to music. Neighboring Downtown Longmont has lovely art galleries’, restaurants and unique shops. The Firehouse Art Center is one of my favorite spots. Of course no trip to Colorado would not be complete without a trip to Denver. I would sign up for a walking tour of Denver. There is so much history to experience and learn. Dessert, of course, would be at the Inventing Room, which offers the tastiest most unique desserts in town. I would take a drive south and head to one of my favorite spots, Garden of the Gods–great for taking photographs, Manitou Springs–a great place to walk around and shop and the Glen Eyrie Castle, where we would have tea. We would venture to Estes Park and have some ice cream before heading for an evening haunted tour at The Stanley Hotel. A hike along one of the trails in the park would be nice if the weather permitted. There are beautiful lakes there and often wildlife to photograph.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Outworld Brewing’s vision would not have been actualized without the tireless energy and commitment of our family and close friends, including those who live outside the state, some of whom continue to travel to Colorado to ensure that we have the resources and tools we need to make this venture a success. As a new business we have appreciated the support of the Longmont community as we launched our brewery and full-service restaurant to provide Longmont a unique dining experience and private event venue using Sci-fi/Fantasy themes and events. We have enjoyed partnering with local talent, organizations and businesses to make Outworld Brewing a local destination for the Longmont community for music, comedy, dinner theater and other niche, on-theme entertainment such as D&D and Role Playing Games. The Longmont community has embraced us warmly and we are humbled and honored to be a part of it.
