We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Haltom and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelle, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My mission with Shine Intuitive Beauty has always been to help people feel like the most confident, radiant version of themselves. I truly believe that when we feel aligned and beautiful, both inside and out, we’re able to move through the world with more grace, kindness, compassion, and purpose. When someone feels good in their skin, they show up differently. They uplift others, deepen their relationships, and make meaningful contributions to their communities. In a world that can sometimes feel chaotic or disconnected, my goal is to provide a safe haven for others to reconnect with themselves, feel seen and supported, and leave with a sense of renewal, carrying that positive energy forward. The ripple effect is powerful, and that’s at the heart of everything we do.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Shine Intuitive Beauty began in 2017 as a single-room waxing studio in Avon, CO. Since then, we’ve expanded into something more all-encompassing and heart-centered, evolving into a full-service beauty and skincare spa. We are rooted in both holistic and medical aesthetics, specializing in results-driven facials and treatments that are effective, thoughtful, and designed to fit seamlessly into our clients’ busy, active lives.
Everything we do is guided by genuine, compassionate care, for our clients, our team, and the integrity of our work. Our guests are never just another name on the schedule; we build lasting relationships and curate treatments that are personalized, supportive, and truly transformative. Every skincare line and service we offer is something we’ve personally vetted, loved, and fully believe in.
Our offerings range from custom facials and chemical peels to gold-standard treatments like Hydrafacial and ProCell Microneedling. We also specialize in eyebrow artistry and permanent makeup, including hyper-realistic Machine Hairstroke Nano Brows. Our skincare lines include some of the most respected names in the industry, such as Alastin, SkinMedica, Epicutis, and Eminence Organics. Behind the scenes, we’re constantly learning, evolving, and refining our techniques, with new advancements and offerings always on the horizon.
The journey to get here hasn’t always been easy. Like many small businesses, we’ve navigated our share of challenges, from finding the right space and team to managing growth while staying true to our vision. Of course, there have been moments of overwhelm. But through it all, we’ve remained grounded in passion, heart, and an unwavering commitment to our clients’ well-being. Helping people feel confident and genuinely cared for every day makes every challenge so worthwhile; that’s what I love most about this work!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite restaurant in the area is Craftsman Brew Co.! It’s a chill and relaxed vibe with incredible food, time and time again. Their sandwiches and salads are always amazing, but the burger is hands-down my favorite! After that, I’d stop by Sundae for some homemade ice cream. It’s the best in the Valley, hands-down.
For some outdoor local flavor, I love floating the Upper Colorado River for a mellow, scenic rafting trip! I also highly recommend Iron Mountain Hot Springs in Glenwood Springs for a great place to relax and recharge. It’s one of my favorite retreats in all of Colorado.
If you want to do some shopping and pick up some handmade local goods, make sure to check out one of our various farmer’s markets this summer! We have many great ones in town, but the Minturn Market is my favorite. Don’t forget to support our other amazing local businesses, too! A stop at The Belden Witch in Minturn is a must for handmade witchy gifts, crystals, teas, and cacao. Then, pop over to All The Good Stuff in Edwards for fresh, local produce and amazing, Colorado-made snacks!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to shout out to everyone who has helped make Shine Intuitive Beauty what it is today. It truly takes a village, and I’m endlessly grateful for every single person who’s believed in and supported me along the way!
First and foremost, my amazing husband, Matt. He’s been my rock through thick and thin, helping behind the scenes and believing in me during some of the most challenging moments. I am so grateful for all he does, every day.
A huge shoutout also goes to my incredible coworker, fellow esthetician, and now dear friend, Jodi. She’s been with Shine for over five years, and her dedication, work ethic, and ability to evolve with the business as it grows have been a true gift.
I also want to thank my loving parents, extended family, and circle of friends. They’ve helped us with literally everything, from painting and moving to our floor plans and cabinets, all while sending love and cheering us on from the sidelines. Their unwavering support has kept me grounded in more ways than I can express.
And finally, our clients. Shine wouldn’t exist without their trust, loyalty, and belief in what we do. They’ve grown with us, supported us through every season, and continue to inspire us every day. They’re the reason we love this work so much, and we are so grateful for their continued support.
