We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Adams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Oh man I think, within reason of course, you just go for it. You can’t let the possibility of failing or being embarrassed or changing your mind or anything else along those lines stop you from trying. It’s so cliche but I really try to live my life with the “someone else’s opinion is none of my business” approach. I mean, I was all set to go to law school when I got a job offer in Washington DC that I couldn’t refuse. I moved there, basically sight unseen, knowing no one, & with very little money to my name. That risk led me to my husband & my now home in Wisconsin which gave me the push to change course & risk falling on my face to pursue my love of fashion. Every experience, success or failure, is a learning opportunity.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is carefully & instinctively helping people find their style & embrace every beautiful facet of who they are. My eye for color compliments, intentionality with every piece, & pursuit of originality is what makes me unique as a stylist.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well starting the morning with a latte from Boxed and Burlap is a must! On a nice, summer day we’d take a stroll on the lake path then get cleaned up for apps/wine at Hill Valley Dairy followed by dinner on the water at Pier 290!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So many people! This feels like an Oscar’s acceptance speech! I’d like to thank my dad for always blindly believing I was capable of absolutely anything, my community for fostering creatives & entrepreneurs so well, & Parsons School of Design for offering invigorating programs that not only educate but encourage you to put yourself out there. My good friend Sonya Kammes deserves a shoutout for her incredible talent as a photographer & keeping me inspired. But most of all, my wonderful husband.
