We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittney Strathmann and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittney, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Believing in myself. That I could take what comes so naturally to me and help provide a service to others & partnering with amazing like minded creatives in our industry.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My || A R T || is always changing and evolving like any creative would hope for…

I started my business with no prior experience in florals/design/or anything business for that matter. I always wanted to work for myself and make beautiful things, I had the opportunity to take on a floral position for a family business. And from there Willow Design blossomed into what it is today.

It sure wasn’t easy nor is it now. I’m always learning and evolving into my events & designs. Trying new techniques and styles to keep relevant to the times/styles that are always ever changing.

Keep pushing yourself to the next version of you, I think it’s hard as a creative to get stuck in a rut of the same thing over and over again. But by trying new things and keeping your brand relevant to you & the times you can do anything! Keep on pushing and inspiring those around you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well how lucky am I that most of my very close friends live in the same area as me. But if I we had a weekend away w/0 work, events, kids, just everyday life here it is…

We would stay in Delavan at Jones Street Cottage (Its the cutest little place)

|| A M || : Boxed and Burlap for a morning coffee & relaxing/ catching up.

|| E A R L Y A F T E R N O O N || : Afternoon cocktails at Mars/some lunch. And off to the streets of Lake Geneva for some much needed shopping! (LUCCA, Brick & Mortar, Ever Dry Goods….and so on!!!)

|| L A T E A F T E R N O O N ||: Late afternoon cocktails at Champs Sports Bar & light apps.

|| D I N N E R ||: Last but no least…. OPUS for a one of a kinds dining experience. Then back to LG for some speakeasy cocktails at Maxwell Mansion. (Password needed) 😉

We would spend Sunday morning relaxing & saying our goodbyes to a wonderful weekend!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Wow this list would most likely have to be a book w/ names of family, friends, bosses, co workers, customers etc. Not sure that I can list everyone but just know that there is a whole village of amazing people behind me. Cheering me on and supporting each endeavor I take on. But most importantly my husband Shawn who is always my biggest support, I couldn’t do what I do without all of this help and mental support, Cheers to the good life hubby!
