We had the good fortune of connecting with Brooke Nelson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brooke, what do you attribute your success to?
The key to my success is my self-confidence and my willingness to take risks. I’ve always been eager to learn and try new things, which has enabled me to grow and evolve. My entrepreneurial spirit led me to start my own business, where my passion for photography truly blossomed. I strive to be personable and create amazing experiences for my clients, not just act as a service provider. I truly love crafting unique experiences for everyone I work with.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a wedding photographer specializing in micro weddings and elopements, with a particular love for capturing the beautiful Colorado backdrop. What sets my work apart is my dedication to creating unique and personalized experiences for each couple I work with. I strive to be more than just a service provider; I aim to build genuine connections with my clients and make their special day truly memorable.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the accomplishment of trying something hard but being able to gain success and work with such amazing clients, other photographers, and wedding industry vendors. I’ve met some great people who have helped me grow and develop as well. My journey to where I am today hasn’t been easy, but my confidence and adventurous spirit have helped me overcome numerous challenges. I’ve always been eager to learn and try new things, which has enabled me to continually improve my craft.
I am most excited to see where photography takes me. I have big goals for myself, and I know that if I keep up with the passion I put into my brand, I can hit those goals. Throughout my journey, I’ve learned the importance of perseverance, continuous learning, and building meaningful relationships. One valuable lesson is to not compare myself to others, especially other photographers or small business owners. There is so much talent, but I believe God created me to be uniquely me, and no one can take that from me. I know that everyone has their unique abilities, talents, and goals.
My brand is all about creating amazing experiences and capturing the essence of each couple’s love story. I want the world to know that my work is driven by passion, creativity, and a genuine love for what I do.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As a photographer, I love the beautiful scenery Colorado offers, so I would definitely take them to:
– Red Rocks
– Boulder for hiking
– Rocky Mountain National Park
– Garden of the Gods
– Horsetooth Reservoir
– Glenwood Springs for relaxation at the hot springs
There are so many good places to eat in Colorado. Being from northern Colorado, one of my favorite places to eat is The Pumphouse in Longmont.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There have been many people and influences that have contributed to my success and journey. Firstly, I would like to give a heartfelt shoutout to my family and friends for their unwavering support and encouragement. Their belief in me has been a constant source of motivation.
I’d also like to recognize the small business mentors I’ve worked for, who have taught me everything I know, and the local photographers who have helped me grow and develop. Additionally, I owe a lot to Cassidy Lynn’s “Oh Shoot” podcast, which has been incredibly inspiring and informative. Each of these influences has played a vital role in my story, and I am deeply grateful for their contributions.
