We had the good fortune of connecting with Caitlin Hope and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Caitlin, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
I have to say, hands down, that skin is so much more than “yes, this is a good product, It has good ingredients, this will work for you!” Skin is unique, it’s one of a kind, so you must treat it as such. We analyze our clients skin in depth to recommend real and effective products and techniques to help our client achieve their final goal, not only in skin but makeup as well! This industry is so much more that a simple recommendation, we will always deliver A unique experience that caters to your individual skin!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an independent pro makeup artist, as well as a licensed esthetician at Chloe Maddison Skin in Downtown Colorado Springs. My passion is to enhance my clients beauty and make them feel confident and beautiful, whether it’s an all natural application or a complete transformation. I am a pretty versatile artist, I will work on any skin, I’m not afraid to try anything new. This industry is fast paced, new products are constantly launched, new techniques are created, so you cannot be scared to just go for it! I’m so thankful for social media and word of mouth, as that’s how I’ve really put my work out there and gained my clientele for makeup. If you give someone an unforgettable experience, they will most likely tell atleast one person, and they may go find your page, like it, share it, etc. You do have to be somewhat driven to promote yourself and be consistent, and it was definitely not easy to get where I am now. I love to use social media to post my work as well as see other artist’s work. I think Instagram has been a great place to connect with other creatives. I’m most excited, on that note, for what is to come because I have met a good number of artists on Instagram to work with. When you create a concept with a stylist, hair stylist, photographer, model, and a makeup artist, you can bring your most unique & creative ideas, that you may not get to use on a client. I’d like my clients and potential future clients to know, my passion is to bring you a one of a kind experience that makes you feel like you’re unstoppable. My goal is for you to walk out of your appointment saying “I AM BEAUTIFUL & I AM WORTH IT.” Sure, the makeup may be for just a simple occasion, like family photos, but you will look at those photos hanging on your wall for the rest of your life thinking about how amazing & confident you felt. That’s what it’s really all about for me. I offer anything from a natural makeup enhancement, to a complete transformation. I have experience in bridal, photography, boudoir, military balls, proms and other special events. I’d love to be considered for your next occasion.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When friends or family come in to town I love to show them a few places. I’m an outdoor person, so I always end up in Cheyenne Cañon to hike or a sunset walk up Pulpit Rock. Of course, the typical Garden of the Gods. If they’re willing to do a little drive, out past Woodland Park to fish, or a day trip up to Denver to go to the Nature & Science Museum. Food is my weakness, so I always have a ton of recommendations based off of who it is. Phantom Canyon is a great environment with pool and drinks for a chill night out. Girls night is always at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop. The breakfast spot is always Black Bear Diner!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout absolutely would be to my parents, grandparents & my husband!!! They have all motivated or mentored me at different points of my life. Without the important lessons I’ve been taught growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, I wouldn’t be so driven, responsible & efficient. Without my husband pushing me to do something for myself, and constantly supporting me and cheering me on, I would never be running my dream business! I am passionate and driven over anything I set mind too. So thank you guys & I love you!
