We had the good fortune of connecting with Cam Leids and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cam, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Authenticity. Being authentic in who I am without trying to act or appear a certain way is one of the biggest keys to not only my success, but also my mental health. I used to put on all of these different masks to try to fit in with whatever group I was around at the time without even being aware of it. I got so used to that that I lost sight of who I truly was at the center of it all. Feeling comfortable being my truest self regardless of where I am has been a journey for sure, but I no longer feel the need to convince everyone to like me. If you vibe with me cool, and if you don’t, that’s also cool. I try not to take anything too personally.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My podcast is ever evolving. As I continue to learn more and grow as a person I make sure to allow my artistic expression to do the same. I’m proud of how consistent I’ve been since I began almost 2 years ago knowing absolutely nothing about what I was doing. It’s only me, so I’m the only one holding myself accountable which can be tough sometimes because there are times when I just don’t feel like editing or trying to figure out schedules and doing all of the behind-the-scenes stuff people don’t always realize goes into creating something like this. My mission is to spread love and give others the courage to heal themselves. Staying aligned with my mission has been critical in keeping me going. I want people to know that it’s okay not to be okay, and to normalize talking about these things and just allowing ourselves to feel whatever it is that we feel. We’re all perfect exactly as we are, and the only thing wrong with us is that we can’t see that.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Red Rocks for sure. It doesn’t have to be for a show too, although that’s always a good time too, but even just to hike around and see it. I love nature and being outside, and the areas around Denver certainly have no shortage of incredible scenery to check out. I’m also a huge fan of Golden. The city itself reminds me of an old western town and I really like the vibe.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Ayahuasca. Without travelling to the jungle of Peru to take ayahuasca, I am 100% certain that I would not be here today. Grandmother Ayahuasca has been and continues to be one of my greatest teachers.
