Meet Dr. Bonnie May | Chiropractor, author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Bonnie May and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Bonnie, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My healing practice, as a Chiropractor, (and whole food supplements) is to help people be healthy and stop believing in limitations in their own healing abilities. My life long passion is to educate parents how to keep their children healthy, which is their natural state, natural every day way life is meant to be, and to not put children on Pharmaceuticals first, as Rx are dangerous with some potential serious side effects. My belief is that by helping to build a world with each and every healthier generation, war will stop. Because happy healthy people don’t start wars.

What should our readers know about your business?
Because I knew the truth about how the human body really works and knew how dangerous Rx side effects were are what really motivated me to always stay the course. I always believed it was my soul’s path and mission to help teach the truth and knew in my heart I was making a difference. I am most proud of being selected as Woman Chiropractor of the year of 2007 and the two books I have written so far. And for sure that my children and Grandchildren have contiuned with this wisdom to raise healthy naturally human beings with unlimited potential. Was it easy? In the beginning I was ridiculed by friends and family, which motivated me even more. Even Medical professionals, who knew not of what Chiropractic was, out of ignorance challenged me in my beginning years, and I knew it was only because they weren’t educated in Chiropractic and subluxation. So now almost 50 years later alot has changed and I’m more confident than ever.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Garden of the Gods, The Olympic Center, 7 Falls and the Broadmoor are my most favorite spots. Hiking and hanging out downtown, to little shops and restaurants.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My lifelong success is hugely from all of the wisdom I received the Parker Chiropractic Seminars, Dallas, Tx., which I began attending in 1975 before I opened my own practice in Iowa. Professionalism, education, and teaching others what Chiropractic is relly all about is how I really grew my business.
