We had the good fortune of connecting with Cameron Connolly and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cameron, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve always wanted to start my own clothing company since high school. My friend and I started a small t shirt business in high school. I wrote a business plan in college about a t shirt company. It’s always been a goal of mine. Then later as I got older I wasn’t the best at holding down jobs or working for other people. I decided to give this my all. I started Sliv Life in 2017 with t shirts again. Late 2018 decided to really give it my all and see why happens. And it’s taken off since then. My father who played a big role in my life is a entrepreneur and started his own business who I currently work for doing concrete work. So I saw what you could have working for yourself and always had an entrepreneur instinct in me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well my art is very unique. It’s Art one clothes and I make 1 of 1 items. I make very colorful vibrant patterns on jeans that no one else can make. I’ve been blessed to find this gift. I’ve made over 850 things by hand in 2 years. All unique and 1 of 1 items not be the same. I want people to stand out when they wear my clothes. Everyone is unique and individual just like my clothes. I’ve put a lot of hard work the last two years everyday I work on my craft trying to get better. I’ve spent countless hours working on clothes everyday it’s all I do. I’m obsessed with making clothes it’s my creative outlet. It has not been easy by any means I have to push myself everyday to complete tasks. I’ve learned a lot about consistency and perseverance through hard times. Sometimes I’ll work really hard on clothes and not feel like it’s going well but I have to keep pushing because there’s ups and downs ebb and flow in business. I’m a cancer survivor 5 years ago and that taught me to live life in the moment and chase my dreams! That’s my goal to remind people when they wear my clothes that life is short, try and enjoy each day work hard towards your goals and dreams

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hmm that’s very tough for me as all I do is work on clothes and prob don’t go out and enjoy the city enough. If they were here for a week I would definitely take them out electric mountain bike riding! It’s unbelievable me and my dad have them and ride them all the time! They’re pedal assist so it makes climbing a hill or a long ride fun! Def go ride bikes a lot! Go out and get some good food downtown! So many choices it’s unreal! I like biker Jim’s haven’t been there since before covid. Also maybe the museums or shopping downtown. There’s a lot to do in Denver for sure! I could come up with a week of fun easily!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Hmm that’s very tough as I have a lot of support from family. I would have to say my father plays a big role in my life as a mentor. He owns his own Concrete business and has for 20 years. He showed me personal development books at a young age while I was racing motocross. My dad showed me a book “With Winning in my Mind” by Lanny Bassham an that book at age 15 or 16 changed my life. I owe a lot to my dad he’s my role model and I look up to him. But my whole family my Mom is a huge support to me and always has been along with my brother sister girlfriend and friends
