Meet Carlos Trechter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Carlos Trechter and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carlos, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
At Carlos T Events, the inspiration to start the business came from a deep passion for creating meaningful, unforgettable experiences for others. I’ve always found joy in bringing people together and celebrating life’s most cherished moments, and I wanted to build a company that reflects that purpose. I noticed a gap in the industry for event planning that is both highly personalized and professionally executed—especially for weddings and intimate gatherings. My goal was to create a service where clients feel heard, cared for, and confident that every detail is handled with excellence. Starting Carlos T Events was about turning that passion into a purpose-driven business where every event becomes a lasting memory.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Carlos T Events is a full-service event planning company with a heart for creating experiences that are not only beautiful but deeply personal. While we specialize in weddings, we also plan milestone celebrations and intimate gatherings, always with the same level of care and attention to detail. What sets us apart is our client-centered approach—we listen closely, personalize every detail, and strive to make the planning process feel as joyful and stress-free as the event itself.
We’re most proud of the trust our clients place in us and the lasting relationships we’ve built through our work. Each event we plan tells a story, and we’re honored to be a part of those once-in-a-lifetime moments.
The journey hasn’t been easy—building a business from the ground up requires resilience, creativity, and a lot of late nights. One of the biggest challenges was gaining momentum in a competitive industry, but we focused on quality over quantity, building a reputation one event at a time. Word-of-mouth, client referrals, and the genuine love we put into our work helped us grow organically.
Along the way, we’ve learned that integrity, clear communication, and staying grounded in your “why” make all the difference. We want the world to know that Carlos T Events is more than an event planning service—we’re a team fueled by passion, guided by professionalism, and committed to making your celebration one you’ll never forget. This brand is a reflection of hard work, heart, and the belief that meaningful moments deserve to be celebrated in extraordinary ways.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Colorado Springs for a week, I’d plan a fun-filled itinerary that captures the natural beauty, vibrant food scene, and rich culture the city has to offer. We’d start the trip with a visit to Garden of the Gods to take in the breathtaking red rock formations and then head up Pikes Peak—either by car or the historic Cog Railway—for unbeatable mountain views. For dinner, we’d enjoy a unique dining experience at The Rabbit Hole, a whimsical underground restaurant with creative American fare. On day two, we’d tackle the Manitou Incline or explore the Cave of the Winds, followed by an afternoon stroll through Manitou Springs, sampling its famous mineral waters and browsing local shops. Shuga’s would be our dinner spot that evening, known for its eclectic menu and cozy vibe.
Midweek, we’d visit the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo—one of the best zoos in the country—and then hike around Seven Falls, a stunning series of waterfalls. Dinner at Four by Brother Luck would give us a taste of the Southwest through locally inspired dishes. We’d spend another day exploring the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum and the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum to learn more about the city’s athletic and historical roots. Of course, we’d mix in some relaxation, maybe a picnic at Palmer Park or a coffee at Loyal Coffee downtown. Throughout the trip, we’d connect with local makers, artists, and fellow adventurers—because one of the best parts of Colorado Springs is the warm, welcoming community that makes every visit unforgettable.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Carlos T Events would like to give a heartfelt shoutout to the UNLV Harrah College of Hospitality. The education, mentorship, and hands-on experiences provided by this incredible institution played a foundational role in shaping our journey. From inspiring faculty to real-world industry exposure, the college cultivated the skills, confidence, and vision that led to the creation of Carlos T Events. We are especially grateful for the support system within the Hospitality College—professors, peers, and advisors—who continuously uplift and empower the next generation of hospitality leaders. This shoutout is for every classroom, conversation, and challenge that helped make our dream a reality.
