We had the good fortune of connecting with Catherine Caceres and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Catherine, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
I believe I’m still learning so much but also have learned quite a bit of solid life lessons during my career. What I believe stands out right now as far as being the most important lesson is to not loose integrity. Not to say there has been a lack in very tempting offers especially during struggling times, I just can’t give up. The ability to withhold healthy standards that are necessary in our current crises prove that there is such a need for ethical practice since so many have chosen machiavellian standards. How many products can you find on the shelves that are made without harmful ingredients?

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
It still is a very challenging journey, struggle is real when you’re lacking support. I work a handful of jobs to sustain this dream and it hasn’t financially taken off with so many of life’s setbacks. Nonetheless I refuse to give up, each person that I can provide some relief to reminds me how important this role is. Each of us have our own cocktail of needs, I’m working on being able to learn from that and create the best products for ourselves. Working to restore some faith in manufacturers because there are small fighters fighting against a multitude of big bullies for better standards. I believe people become more aware every day, little by little figuring out what is best for us. Having a focus on healthy skincare, food/beverage, physical and mental health care is what’s driving this bus knowing there are other individuals working on the same.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many things to do here, have to recommend hiking especially Dinosaur Ridge where you can actually hug a dinosaur, so many parks and trails to venture it’s hard to choose. Redrocks is a must! Meow Wolf, art & science museums, botanical gardens are also a must. 5280s is such a fun 80s shop with the best owners- definitely on the list! Can’t beat a Avs or Rockies game or One Up downtown and venture around the many food options. Rosehouse botanicals is a sweet one to check out for some lovely plants and local handcrafted goods. If unable to grab Bjorn’s honey from a market or the airport it’s totally worth the venture to Breckenridge to visit their store and a few good food options there as well. Avanti, The Source & Barcelona Wine Bar are high on the list but also scoping the many farmers markets for making amazing local ingredient based dishes at home. Can’t miss out on The Inventing Room for a delicious and creative dessert, despite the hype with many ice cream shops Magills World of Ice Cream has some of my favorite flavors if I’m not making it at home myself.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Abuela (grandmother) deserves a lot of credit for being my biggest cheerleader, loosing her a few months ago has been very difficult but I know her spirit is still cheering me on.
