We had the good fortune of connecting with victor aguilera and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi victor, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with idea for my business after being fed up one night with both doubles making food I didn’t love, I got home late and prepped a few arepas and rode my bike and sold them within an hour, a few years later the pandemic have me enough time to put my business together and launched it.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was an auto mechanic with my dad from a young age 13 to 16 but then he had to leave the country and I decided to stay, I landed a job in a restaurant and quickly moved up the stations and fell in love with the industry, I didn’t care how rough it was I always loved the challenge. I’ve over come many dark moments in this 14 year of experience path, and finally this past few years I’m somewhere I always wanted to be making. the food I love, I can’t wait to fulfill my dream by getting a location restaurant/ food truck as my next step to this journey.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to do the tourist things they’d like first elsewhere is to go to the bridge or painted ladies, and in between I would take them to my favorite food spots whether is a 4$ bahmi to the beat ramen in the city where you wait on line for hours, I love my city there’s always something to Do.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to give a shot out to my fiance Stacy, she’s been behind my back pushing me to always aim for more and no matter how hard it might be she always made sure I didn’t give up, I want to thank her tmfor helping me in my sleepless nights with anything she could, massaging my muscles after riding for long hours and putting a beating to my body she’s the real MVP, I could have never done it without her and my daugther she’s everything I do this for, and my following for always supporting me and making this dream a reality, thank you.
