Hi Censie, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
I find happiness in my family and friends. Being a mom is something I love and I find myself the happiest when I am snuggled up with my kiddos. In addition to feeling that happiness with my family and friends, over the last year I have finally come to the realization that what makes me happy is being in control of my happiness. A choice I make in every moment of my day.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Building Our Story is a place that shares a view into the lifestyle of a busy family; living and loving life in Colorado. I share my thoughts on travel, easy recipes, family life, parenting blunders, creative yet easy DIY tutorials, and great reads! I started this website back in 2009 and since then, it has grown to be a resource for every day parents. I pride myself in my authentic view into life and even more recently I have opened up about a journey through divorce recovery and parenting through this life challenge. While Building Our Story has changed a lot through out the last 11 years I have enjoyed this journey. Sure, some days I question if my business is valuable to others and then I get a message or an email from a reader that reassures me that I am doing something right! My biggest lesson in creating and managing this space is that it really is best to be authentic and your true self. People need those REAL connections online. I want people to know that Building Our Story is a safe place for any reader to find a connection – even if that means finding the perfect kid approved meal for dinner!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had friends visiting me here in Colorado I would make sure I took them to the mountains. I am not a camper or an expert hiker but there is nothing else that compares to getting out into the fresh mountain air with friends and family. Cathartic and healing with just one deep breath and mountain view! Breckenridge is probably my favorite mountain town to visit because I have a lot of memories from childhood in that cute little town. If we had a little more time I would love to soak in the hot springs in Glenwood too! No matter where you visit in Colorado there is always a great place to enjoy a meal too.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One shoutout…that is hard, there isn’t just one person or thing to give credit too for the success I have found in my business. I need to give a shoutout to my family, especially my kiddos; Jude and Teagan. They are the faces of my business just as much as mine. I cannot forget to thank my mom and dad for their ongoing support, cheerleading and consistent love. I am so grateful for the daily support of my friends and family for not only supporting me but indulging me in my content creation modes! I am sorry I make you wait to eat until I take a picture of your food, I am sorry I make you take a picture of me during our hikes and thank you for letting me share your faces on my website and social channels! YOU ALL KNOW WHO YOU ARE….THANK YOU! Building Our Story….I will always focus on “OUR” – there are so many people in my story that are included in that “OUR”!
