We had the good fortune of connecting with MacKenzi Knight and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi MacKenzi, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
Starting and running a business can be risky and nerve racking. The best decision I ever did was jumping right in and going full time with my business. There was no other option but success and it motivated me more than anything else. Not having a “backup plan” or another job to rely on made me push myself to a whole new level.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Colorado wedding photography is one of the most saturated markets in the wedding industry. Couples have so many options for their photos and I continue to feel so honored when they choose me. Not only do I strive to provide gorgeous and romantic images, but an entire client experience. From helping with the wedding planning, to brainstorming ideas I’m there for the entire process. I strive to capture real emotion, laughs (and tears) that last for generations to come.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Colorado is home to me. Some of my favorite places include Rino art district in Denver, shopping at Cherry Creek and eating at STK Denver.. Pagosa Springs resort with pool side pina coladas is always a must as well!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without my mom, my business wouldn’t be possible. Not only does she take care of my son while I’m at sessions and weddings, but she continues to motivate me everyday!
