We had the good fortune of connecting with Charizma Lopez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charizma, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I am a real estate agent helping people all over the Denver Metro area find their dream homes or sell the home they once made so many memories in. In my field, I feel like most home buyers and sellers just go through the motions of either process. At the end of each journey, they still may not understand what they’ve done! I’d like to change that by taking the time to educate my clients through each step of the way. I specialize in working alongside local business owners. Not only does this give me an opportunity to assist them with their real estate needs, but it allows me to network and refer their business as well! I love giving back and immersing myself in the community, so what better way to do it than this?!

What should our readers know about your business?
It’s not easy going into a saturated field as a young person. It’s also tough to beat the stigma against young people and their work ethic. I’m proud to be starting my career so early and I don’t see anything wrong with that! I like to approach that in a more positive perspective. I feel like I can bring fresh and creative approaches to the real estate industry while still being able to handle business! Right now I’m working on a project that involves networking with other Denver based businesses. I’m conducting video interviews with these entrepreneurs to learn more about their stories. This allows me to connect with them on a personal level, promote their business, as well as building that referral network!

I’m able to be in this position today by knowing what I want and what I don’t want. I worked in fast food for two years, didn’t want that. I had a corporate job for over a year, great job, but I was burned out. I wanted to be in control of my progression. So I pursued a career where I can do something different everyday and can actively help others. As much as it may seem, real estate isn’t an easy job. Deals can fall apart, the market can change, nothing is guaranteed until closing. I’ve learned that I have to prove my value to those who want to work with me! If someone doesn’t like real estate agents, that’s okay. I don’t have to convince them to because someone else needs and wants my help.

I want people to know that I take a different approach to this sales position. I feel like salespeople are scary (coming from a salesperson, I know). I want to create a comfortable space for my clients so they know I’m not pressuring them to do anything! Whenever the time is right for them to pursue the biggest purchase of their life, or put their largest asset up for sale, is up to them. I work on their time, not the other way around. The journey is always focused around my clients needs.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I absolutely love Denver! Traveling to other cities is nice for three or four days, but I’m always ready to come back home to the mile high city. If I had someone visiting me, here are some things I’d take them to do:

– it’s a must to hike at the Rocky Mountain National Park. I’m talking getting up at four in the morning to drive up to RMNP, then begin the hike at 6AM. There are so many beautiful trails to hike, it’s hard to pick just one (it’s also hard to snag a timed entry pass, so you have to be ready!)

– I would also take them to Cinzetti’s! It’s an Italian buffet up in Northglenn and my forever birthday brunch place. Since I was a kid, Cinzetti’s has been my go to restaurant for any celebration! Their crepes are fantastic!

– I’m a sucker for local brunch places and cafes (if you couldn’t tell). Doppio on Colfax is delicious! I also like Bluebird Cafe up in Thornton. Amazing service, family like vibe, and delicious food!

– Kuluka Boba is another one. Their mochi donuts and crème brûlée milk tea are so good!

– okay enough with the food, I could go on and on with the options! The farmers markets are another great one. There are so many to see while they last from May to September.

– We like hitting the lakes and rivers on summer days! Jackson Lake is great. About an hour north from Denver and it includes a lake, beach area, and volleyball courts. The river in Golden is also great for tubing and fishing.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to take the time to shoutout my family! They know that once I become passionate about something, I’m all in. Never have they discouraged me from pursuing my career path, or anything for that matter. They are my back bone and they believe in me when sometimes I lack that faith in myself. I am so grateful to have them as my support system through all the ambitions I come up with. I love them so very much.
