We had the good fortune of connecting with Chase and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chase, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Before starting Elevation Web Design & SEO in 2025, I spent over a year working at another SEO agency that focused on medical and professional service clients in highly competitive markets like NYC and LA. Those types of environments demand precision, strong communication, and strategical clarity. These were situations where rankings were directly tied to revenue and the success of the business. Working in that industry with those types of campaigns and clients informed how I think about SEO and digital marketing today. They really helped me build a foundation of skills, and created an opportunity for me to start my own agency.

At the same time, I’ve always had a passion for marketing, especially digital, as it’s one of the few industries where there’s always something new to learn. Algorithms change, platforms evolve, there’s always new competition, and the skill ceiling is only growing higher with the introduction of AI. That kind of constant evolution, paired with the analytical and data driven side of the work, is something I seriously enjoy.

From a business perspective, digital marketing also just made sense. There’s no barrier to entry, startup cost is almost zero, the cost of failure is low, margins are extremely high, and revenue is recurring. I personally prefer recurring revenue more than project based work, which is why this business model was so appealing.

My interest only became more concrete after launching my own service based business, Erie Pooper Scoopers, where I could apply my own skill set in digital marketing. Running my own local service-based business allowed me to experience what small business owners actually care about. Driving rankings, leads, and calls.

Entrepreneurship is also just kind of part of my blood. I come from a family of entrepreneurs, and I’ve always had a strong desire to build something special, set my own schedule, work from home, and take accountability for my successes and failures. Obviously making more money is part of that as well, but building skills, solving real problems, and doing something I’m passionate about mattered just as much.

Starting my own business/agency was really just a natural intersection of all those things combined. That being experience in competitive environments, a genuine interest digital marketing, a proven business model, and the desire to build something suitable for my own terms.

What should our readers know about your business?
The digital marketing space can always be a little iffy. There’s plenty of agencies who are happy to take your money, deliver nothing, and leave you with a bitter taste in your mouth. It’s somewhat of an unfortunate, but common reality. People often sign up with these agencies, sign a large contract, and get stuck talking to a junior sales rep or project manager who isn’t even doing the work. Communication sucks, money is getting burned, and leads aren’t coming in. That’s why I pride myself on clear communication, not outsourcing, and actually delivering results. I also handle all the campaigns myself, meaning nothing get’s lost in translation and intent is highly aligned.

Getting to where I’m at now was not easy. Trust is extremely low in this industry right now, and being that I’m young, it’s even harder to convince people that you aren’t just another scammy agency trying to take their money and run. If you’re a business owner, I’m sure you’re all too familiar with the boat load of cold emails and cold calls that receive from scammers daily. I really had to take a different approach at building this business because it wasn’t like my pooper scooper business that was local, required little to no trust, and was low-ticket cost. I really had to get outside of my comfort zone and put myself out there to grow this business. With my pooper scooper business, I didn’t have to put my face on camera, learn sales, or manage client relationships. This business forced me to be comfortable with doing those things.

If there’s one lesson I would want everyone to learn, it’s that entrepreneurship is harder and slower than what society has portrayed it as.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are plenty of great spots in Colorado to explore. I would start by taking them to the best pizza place in all of Longmont, Rosalees. Seriously it’s the best. I would also take them hiking in the mountains, check out Red Rocks, and explore some cool mountain towns like Vail. There’s also plenty of fun activities like bowling, golfing, go carting, paddle boarding, and so much more in the Denver Metro area. If you’re more into the city vibe, I think walking down Main St, Longmont, or checking out Pearl Street is always fun.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If I had to dedicate this shoutout to anyone, it would be my parents. Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, I was constantly surrounded by positive examples of hard work and accountability. Their support financially and educationally is really what gave me the opportunity and foundation to pursue my goals.

I also want to recognize my fiancée, who I’ll be marrying in June. Building a business comes with lots of work, long hours, and can take up a lot of mental bandwidth. Her patience, support, and encouragement has been a huge blessing in my journey.

From a learning perspective, books have played a significant role in shaping how I think about business. Particularly works like $100M Offers by Alex Hormozi, and Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill. Both those individuals have had a lasting impact on the way I think about business, mindset, and personal growth.

None of what I am building is in isolation,. It’s only possible because of the great people in my life.
