We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsea Renee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chelsea Renee, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor to my company and brand is authenticity. When I am wholly true to who I am, everything falls into place. I am also able to adapt to the seasons of life I am in and be comfortable with change. Authenticity is my mission and my deepest desire for others to embody and feel. When I walk first and have the courage to be my full, true self in all situations and in business, I give others the confidence to do the same. There is a place for me to be ME in this world. And YOU to be you!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Heart Centered Humans was created in a desire for humans to be connected to who they are and be heart-led. We are so proud of the safe spaces we curate to allow everyone to get connect. We believe when we connect with our hearts – the core of who we truly are – we navigate this world in a grounded, loving and understanding way. We now create multiple spaces for humans to experience this exploration and connection: breathwork ceremony, cacao ceremony, sound experience, sacred circles, psilocybin ceremonies and transformational retreats.

The birthing of this business coincided with the death of my previous self. I had gotten to a point in my life where I was disconnected, confused, depressed, purposeless, and at that rock bottom point I felt like something BIG had to change because this wasn’t working anymore. I would cry on my way home from work, feeling so lost. I had to burn it all down. I left my job and began to slowly integrate some mindfulness practices into my life. It started with a 15 minute meditation daily… I held onto that meditation like it was saving my life (because it was).

After months went by, I began to explore more and go deeper. I began to do longer meditation practices, I brought in breathwork sessions, EFT tapping, intuitive movement, personal development coaching…. I went down the rabbit hole of knowing myself. It became my full-time job.

After over a year of solely dedicating my time to tending to my self and feeling connected and confident in who I was…. I heard a small whisper in meditation. “Host a women’s circle.” I had never been to a women’s circle and definitely hadn’t hosted one, but I listened to the voice inside of me because by that point I had grown accustomed to listening and trusting my intuition. I began to host full moon women’s circles here in Denver once a month, and by our third month they would sell out. I opened a breathwork offering once a month also, and that also filled. I hosted my first successful retreat 5 months after my first circle, with 9 humans gathered in the mountains. And since have hosted 6 retreats, 4 of them international, with many more women at each.

It was anything but easy starting this journey and this business because it is very much connected to me. I am the business, I am the brand. One of the things I have noticed, with each evolution of myself, the business changes and I have had to learn to embrace it. Becoming a mother has been one of the most interesting evolution because of the way I have had to go inward once again to tend to myself. On the other side of the fourth trimester, I came out ready to create, host and hold space again because this is my soul’s calling.

The biggest lesson I have learned is that you can not stop a soul’s mission. I have felt like everything that I have experienced – the challenges and the bliss – were to serve me and lead me to where I am. Because my work is so intertwined with the human experience of desiring to be seen, heard and loved- I had to be immersed in all sorts of spaces where I felt overlooked, misunderstood and abandoned. SO I could be one of the courageous ones to repair this gap we see in our society.

We all deserve a safe space to be. We all deserve to be loved for our wild, weird selves. Societal standards for so long were to fit in a box, I am the one breaking down the box and inviting you to unlearn who you thought you were and take the time to find out who you really are.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spots in Colorado are in the mountains. My ideal hang is out-of-service, deep in the mountains with my closest friends.

In Denver, the place I love to take my people is Denver Central Market. I love the bakery there and I love their chocolate croissant. I love the vibe that you can pick your poison- everything you need is in that space!

If we are feeling a sit-down breakfast or brunch- Sassafras on 32nd is my go-to! Every meal there is incredible and always jaw-dropping. For those who consume, the beautiful mimosa or bloody mary flights are so fun also!

Then I would take them to a Rockies game (and grab a a walking taco!) or to Meow Wolf. You can expect a sound experience by Bask or one of Sakala’s many offerings would be on the menu too if there is nothing being created by Heart Centered Humans. I love fun pop-up events by What She Said!

I love my local farmers market off 32nd and Lowell, I love to walk around and people-watch, grab a few items and feel the sunshine.

I feel like walking around Denver you can pick up such a vibe- so my favorite spots to put around are Tennyson Ave, Cherry Creek and RiNo.

For the fun coworking sessions, Nurture is my spot. Nurture is where I take everyone and do all my in-person meetings. I just love the vibe there and the Nurture Networking events each month are always FUN and have a much more connected energy than other networking events.

I love really delicious, vibey places so for dinner we would go somewhere like William & Graham or Wildflower. If we are craving a burger– I am a sucker for Parkburger and love their birria french fries!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is for my partner, Joe Callahan. He has provided me the safest container to explore my authentic self. In our partnership I have been able to feel so comfortable unlearning who I thought I was and remembering who I really am. He has encouraged all the eclectic avenues I have taken to know myself: living in Bali alone, ayahuasca ceremonies, womb retreats and large investments in mentorship. Without such constant, unwavering support in my mission, it would have taken me decades to get where I am now.
