We had the good fortune of connecting with Chloe Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chloe, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Work-life balance is the life blood of how I succeed being a business, a public figure, and as a wife and mother of four. I promised myself long before I had children that I wouldn’t become so consumed with motherhood or my career that I lost myself, and in true Chloe fashion, that’s exactly what I did. I lost myself. I never realized why it was such a common trope until I was living it. after losing weight, battling postpartum depression, getting back into the studio making music, and DJing, all those things literally saved my life. I started to prioritize my passions, and what makes me tick, and the rest was history. I become a better mom, a better wife, and a much better creative.
I think balance is everything. I’m all about my rituals, and routines, and I can do all things through meditation and prayer that literally strengthens me! Lol!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a multidisciplinary artist. I make music as a rapper and singer/songwriter. I have worked with Dear Summer Fest, CC Mobile Arts, Beats Bodega, Poetry 719, Brother Jeff, DJ City, Zen and Kush, Anthem Music Group, PPLD, Colorado Juneteenth, and Coati just to name a few. As a visual artist, I use the medium of digital art, painting, and murals. I am blessed to have been in the Black Luv Mural Fest in Denver in 2021, and the Fort Collins Mural Fest in 2022 right next door to the iconic The Lyric cinema and event space, and worked with My Black Colorado. As a DJ, I specialized in feel good, high vibrational events. I’m really lucky that my brand is so strong because is makes it very easy to maneuver in all the alnes I do. Me and my brand are synonymous with high vibes and good times, so its easy to identify a DJ ChloeBee Blessed or Vinyl and Patties event, As a DJ who happens to be a mom, I love to work with diverse family based crowds, young families and I find my niche in bridging the gap between generations. I think that is what really sets me and my brand apart, I am the vibe curator and overwhelmingly I find that regardless with medium or space I occupy, I always represent creativity, fun, and high vibrations.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spots vary throughout the state. Because I’m a CA transplant I have no problem popping into Denver or Fort Collins from Colorado Springs. The itinerary when in Colorado Springs is Coati for lunch and a show, who knows, I might even be DJing or popup and freestyle. Then I like head up to Everest Nepal on Bijou *insert chef’s kiss. After something to eat, we’re hiking Garden of the Gods style, cause it’s only right for content’s sake, then I like to take a nice walk on Fountain Creek. I love Manitou Springs. It’s so cute and the perfect place to get some ice cream and do some gift shopping. When I’m coming down from Manitou, it’s only right I hit up my girl Donna at Mountain Metaphysical, or the Broom Circle. If shopping is on the menu I take everyone over to The Hause or Eclectic Co. Take a class at Food to Power. Maybe get drinks at Luxe Daiquiri Lounge or an acai bowl from Ola Juice Bar or tacos at Dos Dos. I love to hit up the Fine Art Center with my kiddos (I love a good rainy or snowy free art museum day!), I might pop out at The Garden or the Well, or take a workout class at Anthem Live Studios. If I’m headed south I love to pop out to Pueblo and take my kids to the zoo or the pool at city park and enjoy ice cream and the rides after. If I’m up north in hitting upbeats Bodega, Your Moms House, Gypsy House, IRL Gallery, The Common Collective, The Museum for Black Girls, or Axum Ethiopian restaurant. Might hit up Boulder for a Cu game, or the slopes with Slide Thru Saturdays. If I’m in Fort Collins I’m up at the Lyric. I’m always down for Aspen or Breckenridge too. Basically ifyour coming to visit me in CO, we’re doing it BIG!
