Meet Chris Acosta | Licensed Massage Therapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Acosta and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My journey to starting My Tiny Massage Studio was born after a period of significant personal change that led me to seek a completely fresh start – one where I had genuine control over my path and my daily life. I personally experienced the profound impact massage therapy had on my life. It wasn’t just about physical relief; it was a true respite, a way to manage stress and find a sense of calm. The real driving force was this vision of building a tiny sanctuary, a place where you could genuinely unwind, heal, and feel cared for. It was about taking control of my future and channeling my experiences into creating something that was meaningful and achievable.

What should our readers know about your business?
I had to redefine everything, including what success meant to me. I learned that when you’re driven by a genuine desire to create something meaningful and you commit to your own vision, you unlock a different kind of resilience and purpose.
So, the lesson isn’t just about business strategy; it’s about the power of taking control of your narrative, trusting your unique perspective, and understanding that real success is often found in the courage to start over and build a career that not only sustains you but also deeply reflects your core values and desire to make a positive impact, however ‘tiny’ or personal that impact might seem. It’s taught me that authenticity is magnetic and that a business built from the heart has a unique power to thrive.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m still exploring the area, but I would definitely have some morning bakery sweets and the Bread Chic downtown. Maybe go for a drive around Horsetooth reservoir. I’m definitely going paddle boarding this Summer. Might sound a little odd, but I’m in love with the options for groceries and fresh produce. There are quite a few farm stands and local grocery options, so cooking in the backyard is definitely a fun night. Shopping downtown is always worth one or two days, there’s a great little Golden Poppy Herbal Apothecary I like to stop by. There’s tons of Breweries and restaurants, but Schneider’s Schnitzels for something different. I would have to include a night going out to some venues, but the Magic Rat for free live music is super fun and a great vibe.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
That’s a great question. I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to the practice of massage therapy itself, and to the skilled, compassionate teachers who first showed me its incredible power. During a really pivotal and challenging time of personal change in my life, receiving massage was more than just physical relief – it was a sanctuary. It helped me reconnect, manage stress, and ultimately, find the clarity and inspiration to build a new path and career.
