We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Ares and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is the effort you put into your work. There are no shortcuts; the more productive hours you invest, the more opportunities and better results you will achieve. 10000 hours is a real thing!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart is my unique blend of bass, alternative, disco, and indie music in my house sets, which makes my performances more engaging. I’ve recently signed with two labels and have a lot of new music coming, including a collaboration with rising artist CJ. I’m also gearing up for shows like the Larimer Lounge NYE Party with Sage Armstrong and the “Après Kings” Don Fuego on 12/31, as well as a curated label party at the new “Ski House” for Cartel Collective Record Label. After eight years of hard work, late nights, and learning from failures, I’m finally seeing results. The key is to focus on growth, connect with the right people, and avoid ineffective methods. I want others to know that you can achieve anything you set your mind to; the only limit is yourself. Don’t give up on your dreams!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d definitely take them to a Red Rocks concert and show them the RiNo area. We’d hit my favorite local dive bars, Don’s Club Tavern and Horseshoe Lounge (“The Shoe”). Depending on the season, we could also explore the mountains for some great hikes or hit the ski slopes!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When I was starting out, I frequently watched tutorials from John Summit and Westend. They are my top inspirations and role models, and I aspire to create impactful music like theirs.
