We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Kading and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
The CK Health and Wellness platform is making health and wellness more accessible to more people than ever before. I strive to not only deliver aesthetic results but to improve quality of life. This means relieve aches and pains, create a rock-solid mindset, gratitude for the process, and developing a definitiveness of purpose. Ever since I was a young teenager, I always had a passion to help others. Starting this business allowed for my passion to collide with my inner nerd of science and human movement to offer my services to help solve other’s health and wellness needs. I knew that one’s true freedom came in the form of individual and personal health and that is what I strive to create with all my clients. The reason that I did not just start another fitness brand is because physical fitness is only one piece of the puzzle. It is part of the wholistic health sphere, mental and spiritual health are monumental in our overall wellbeing. In a world of bad health information, CK Health and Wellness was born to eradicate the BS and bridge the gap between the fitness industry and the rest of the health and wellness community. We take a wholistic approach of pursuing health and letting the aesthetics come with time. Positive change is a process and if goals are to be achieved, one must truly find their why or purpose when pursuing health or anything meaningful for that matter. The 2020 pandemic tragically shut down gyms, leading to many searching for answers for their health, attaching to any “health” expert that had an opinion on the matter. CK Health and Wellness created online platforms for people to be able to effectively train from the safety of their homes. Another entity that boosted people’s health progress was the availability to acquire methodical and systematic training programs that can be done either at the gym or at home with little equipment. Along with these training tools the blogs and research articles give a deeper dive into topics that cover physical fitness, nutrition, pain relief and spiritual and mental wellness. CK Health and Wellness operates throughout the Denver Metro Area and virtual services across the country.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
When it came to naming my business, I made it clear to myself that we weren’t just going to be just another fitness brand. The fitness industry is filled with vanity and influencers that tend to not have very much real application or experience. Just because they look good with a shirt off, doesn’t mean they truly know how to connect to the general population and their health and wellness journey. This why CK Health and Wellness has a mission to cut out all of the BS and bridge the gap between the fitness industry and the rest of the health and wellness community. I look to deliver real, long lasting results that can be achieved with dedication and hard work. The most exciting results come in the form of improvement in quality of life. My heart sings when I hear a client tell my that their low back pain has disappeared or their MS symptoms have improved or their depression has subsided because they took ownership of their health and put in the work. CK Health and Wellness took off at the beginning of the pandemic when the gym I operated out of was shut down. I took my practice to mobile and virtual platforms and trained clients at their homes or over zoom. It was difficult in the beginning setting up the infrastructure in order to take proper safety precautions and setting up the technical avenues to deliver effective and life changing personal training sessions. Over the last year, we have all been affected by the lockdowns in many different ways and at many different times. The biggest lesson that I have acquired over this time is that we are all in this together and together we are stronger. CK Health and Wellness has the capacity to support many individuals and the community through several different avenues and it will continue to pursue optimal health and wellness for all it reaches.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would have to start by saying that when you come to Colorado, your itinerary really depends on the season. Regardless of the season, one of the first stops should land you at Santiago’s where you can get one of the best breakfast burritos you’ll ever have. Now if its the summer or fall, Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a must. There is no better place to hear live music than this venue. If its winter, you cannot go wrong with hitting the slopes. My most favorite place in Colorado is Steamboat Springs. The powder is unlike anywhere else, and you will find out why they call it “champagne powder.” Regardless of the season, the Rocky Mountains offer so much outdoor beauty and entertainment. By the days end, you can enjoy a tasty craft brew at any of the local breweries. My favorite in Denver is Comrade Brewing Company.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this story to a few individuals. First, I want to recognize my incredible fiancé, Jillian Baumer. She is one of the strongest and most compassionate individuals who I have ever met, and she has always given me invaluable support when it comes to chasing my dreams and passions. Next, I want to credit my best friends Marc Herschberger and Daniel Hopkins for instilling solid morals. They have impacted my mindset in more positive ways than one. The 2020 pandemic forced me to face adversity and pivot my business which lead to it becoming successful over that last year and I couldn’t have done it without their influence. Finally I want to dedicate this story to the Mindpump Podcast group for their endless supply of knowledge and experience. Their work has really accelerated my progress as a personal trainer and health and wellness professional.
