We had the good fortune of connecting with Christine Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christine, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
The habit of consistency really helped with my success. Being dependable and reliable is key to building a business. I am someone who always shows up ahead of time and who is always reliable.

Yoga for able bodied folks requires consistency, yet working with people with differing abilities, injuries and trauma, consistency is a must to build trust. Reliability and knowing what to expect helps clients ease their minds, connect to the body and build confidence.

This is enhanced by a consistent marketing plan as well, where people know how and where to find information.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am currently the only certified Yoga Therapist in Mesa county which sets me apart in what I offer.
My continuing education in Yoga therapy enables me to provide group support to cancer survivors, and to veterans. I also offer one on one support to a variety of people who are unable. or prefer not to be in group settings for yoga. I am able to provide evaluation and tune in to specific needs of an individual.

My desire to teach people who are differently abled and with PTS, stems from my own adversities in life and my personal resilience. This was a long journey! Ive learned to be patient and that healing my self comes first, and is the biggest, most challenging step in being able to mindfully and respectfully lead others. Personal experience and passion are the best educators. Walking your talk so to speak.

The lesson I have learned is authenticity is key in success. Teach what you know in a way that you are passionate about.
I teach intuitively, from the heart and I’m a story teller. My recent travels to India on pilgrimage have enhanced my life, my stories and my ability to share yoga. The archetypes sustainably teach us many ways to enhance and improve our lives and experiencing much of what I have learned about in the homeland of India brought this full circle for me. My favorite offering is my monthly sisterhood circles, where stories comes to life with my slide shows. We can notice the mirror they hold to our own lives. Thiscommunity helps each of us grow and overcome what might be holding us back. I’m always refreshed and inspired after these gatherings.

I am happy to be able to bring this and any other offerings to clients anywhere in the world via Zoom!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Here in Palisade Colorado there is a lot to see. I take guests up to the Grand Mesa, which I live at the base of.
It is the largest flat top mountain in the world with 300 lakes and many trails and lush landscapes and trails to enjoy. A trip up there can make for a whole day of adventure. Im a nature buff and we have plenty to explore. Another day could be spent exploring or driving through the Colorado National Monument.

I love to take friends to Peche restaurant and Fidels here in Palisade. We have exceptional fine dining.

Daytime adventures might include a trip to Ouray to soak in the hot springs while taking in the amazing scenery coming and going.

Sharing a glass of wine at one of our wineries is always pleasant with beautiful views of our vistas and lush grapevines and fruit trees.

My home is an inviting space to host guests and to restoreand reset in. My small yoga room is an ideal place to hang out and relax or read oracle cards and play singing bowls. My back yard is another relaxing and inviting space to sit and read, eat or chat in. We have numerous, fun food trucks for a quick bite after a day of exploring. I am very blessed to live in this little paradise and love sharing it with others. I offer 1/2 day retreats at my home with a yoga offering and a delicious lunch.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shout out to the Give Back Yoga Foundation. Through this amazing foundation I was able to access training specific to the populations I wanted to serve.
As the Mat Grant Director for the foundation, I am continually inspired by reading thousands of yoga service stories. It is an honor to be a part of this amazing foundation.
