We had the good fortune of connecting with Cindy Poiesz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cindy, what do you attribute your success to?
Networking. People have helped me so much in building my business – whether it’s by connecting me with other people, helping solve problems, giving advice/sharing knowledge, or simply helping to hold me accountable to someone else other than myself. Networking has gotten me further than anything else.
What should our readers know about your business?
I created Supernola, organic + plant-based superfood snacking clusters, and CEO of EVOLVE Brands, the holding company of Supernola and Gorilly Goods. In looking to efficiently scale my Supernola brand, we acquired the Gorilly Goods brand and its manufacturing assets. We are a manufacturer of mindful foods with these two brands and manufacturing capabilities. What I’m most proud of is building a business that has the values I want to see more of in the world. We are mindful in all we do – from powering our facility with 100% renewable energy and recycling/composting our waste, being a certified organic facility that’s also gluten free and peanut free, to the ingredients we put into our mindful snacks being all organic, whole food ingredients for transparency, to giving back with each pack as a part of our philanthropic mission. It’s not always what you accomplish, but how you accomplish it. And of course, about the journey!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In Milwaukee – I’m not from here, I moved here when we acquired the Gorilly Goods brand so I’m not much of a tour guide! But we’d definitely tour my facility! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom for sure! She’s amazing and so supportive.
