We had the good fortune of connecting with Cooper Gunther and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cooper, what role has risk played in your life or career?
In order to succeed at anything, you have to take risks, especially in business. Before I started Denver Storm Door I was working as a full-time electrician, and one day I decided that is not what I saw myself doing for the rest of my life. Immediately, I put all of my money and time into creating Denver Storm Door and risked everything I had, and so far it’s paying off. I’m 26 years old with my own successful business and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Denver Storm Door.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I created Denver Storm Door because I noticed that here in Colorado there was not many other companies that specialize in storm doors and security doors, most companies offer the same product of lesser quality at a higher cost but primarily do other things like windows or siding. With Denver Storm Door we know our products like the back of our hands and excel in customer service and customizable options. In the beginning we had a few hiccups with our big box store supplier and ultimately had to find a more reliable supplier which was a huge challenge and speed bump for me, but in the end I am so happy I made the decision I did. I learned that convenience does not always go hand in hand with quality and business representation.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I could stay with the standard answer and tell you I would take them to red rocks and grab lunch in Morrison, but in all honesty being 26 years old, the nightlife here in Denver is really what interests me. I have found that one of my favorite areas in Denver is RiNo, they have some of the best bars with the friendliest people, in just a few blocks you will find some the most eclectic bar scenes. After you’ve soaked in everything RiNo’s nightlife has to offer, you can wake up head to Snooze for some of the best brunch you’ll find, and then pick from a plethora of options when it comes to hiking or driving scenery. There is so much to do here in Colorado it’s hard to say what and where to start!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Growing up I watched my Dad create and manage several successful businesses all while being an outstanding father and husband, my dad showed me what real man and Entrepeneur is. I have so much respect and gratitude for my dad helping to motivate me and encourage me to always take risks and believe in myself, without him I would not be the man I am today.
