Meet Courtney Jacobs | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Jacobs and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Courtney, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Gratitude: I truly believe if you are not grateful for all that you have, where you came from, how far you have come and the trials you have faced to get where you are- You won’t be able to move forward. Owning a business isn’t easy. There are so many factors. But when I look back on who I was when I started I am amazed at how many things I have overcome. I am grateful for every client that has past in front of the lens of my camera especially ones that have allowed me to test the boundaries of my knowledge.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Every person goes through different struggles and triumphs in life, it’s what makes each person unique and different in their own way. No two people even raised in the same household are exactly alike. I think that’s my favorite part about getting to meet new people and the opportunity to get to capture some of their favorite moments. I love to find the beauty in everyone.I have learned that through my own personal struggles in life. My life wasn’t perfect up to this point but its what made me who I am. I have lost people in my life and those can be painful moments. But it has helped me understand the importance of preserving every memory you have no matter how raw or planned they are.
Each of my own kids have their own personalities and quirks that make them who they are. I always tell people I wouldn’t be able to do what I do if it weren’t for them. I wouldn’t be able to find smiles in people that really don’t want to take photos if I didn’t try every way I can to help my own smile.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would start by figuring out their favorite things, what they have never seen or experienced. I would show them the best of whatever they are excited for.
If they asked me where I would recommend I would always say a place like Ireland! It’s been my favor place I have ever been so far. The greenery, the smell of fresh rain, the kindness of the people and the just overall peaceful feeling when being there.
I love the accents and of course the Ocean the fact that there is a never ending amount of things to do and see that god created.
Food is one of my favorite things, especially good food, I basically pick the places I visit based on good places to eat.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My beautiful family. They have supported me and been with me through all the hours and struggles as well as best moments of my career so far. They have all made me the person I am today which I think is what makes my business what it is.
