Meet Daiva Rizvi | Certified Homeopath and Holistic Nutritionist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Daiva Rizvi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daiva, is there something you believe many others might not?
I’m in the health space, and when it comes to health and disease, I pretty much disagree with all the conventional advice. It’s hard to pick just one piece, as all of the pieces are just part of the big picture. And the big picture is that we are a sick society as a whole, and it is only getting worse. Starting with the USDA Food Guidelines to our failing Health Care System of disease management, it is not designed to help people prevent disease and keep them healthy. The whole system is aimed at removing personal responsibility for our health and putting it all into the hands of the “experts”, who are captured by the big Pharma and Food industries. The same industries that have no interest in keeping us healthy.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I combine nutrition and homeopathy to help my clients get back to health. It truly is the best combo: nutrition is essential to provide the body with all the essential organic building blocks to restore health; it is the foundation of health. And homeopathy comes in to give that energetic stimulus to help the body heal itself, and often, one cannot bring good health without the other. Even Dr. Hahnemann, the father of homeopathy, talked about the importance of his patient’s environment and diet – the health essentials. We have to get them right!
Often, the people who come to me for help have already gone down the conventional route, so there is a lot of suppression in the body to undo. It takes time to heal and undo all the damage done by poor diet and pharmaceuticals. So we work to remove all the obstacles to health, add all the missing support, and then let the body do its magic because the only thing that can heal you is you; we need to get out of the way and provide missing support for the whole organism.
It is challenging to be a natural healthcare practitioner in a world dominated by pharmaceuticals and materialistic thinking about health and the human body. Still, I am seeing a change happening in this space. Slowly but surely, people are starting to realize that this suppressive drug approach to managing chronic health conditions is not working. And that’s the truth. There is so much unnecessary suffering in the world, and science keeps trying to come up with a pill for every ill, but it really is all about the food. Let’s fix that and try not to reinvent the wheel.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In Denver area, one of my favorite places to go is not the city itself – I’m all about being in nature! I grew up in the capital city of Lithuania, so I’ve had enough of the city life! When I have friends or family out of town, I love to take them to Estes Park. There’s so much to see there! What a beautiful place! Rocky Mountain National Park is right next door, so we hike and see the beauty of CO. Bird’s Nest is a great place to grab some food, and Spice Rack is a great place to get coffee and treats. If we decide to go to Denver, I enjoy visiting the Botanic Gardens – it is always a treat, whether it’s summer or winter.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The person who set me on this health path is my son, who struggled with severe eczema and digestive issues when he was a baby – he was my inspiration to find the truth, a better way to health than just standard advice from our pediatrician to put steroid cream on him. So that was the beginning of searching for answers. Then, three years after my daughter was born, I discovered the Weston A. Price Foundation. Their advocacy for a common sense approach to diet and healing was a eureka moment for me, as it resonated so much with how I was raised in the old country – Lithuania.
I started connecting the dots and realizing how my grandmother lived to be 100 without any chronic disease. She didn’t read all the nutrition studies; she didn’t have a food pyramid to follow; she didn’t go to a gym; she didn’t use hand sanitizers; and she didn’t soak her home in antibacterial products. Her secret to a healthy, long life was what the Weston A. Price Foundation is advocating for – grow and eat real food, drink raw milk, don’t hide from the sun, put your hands into the soil, walk barefoot, be outside (without all the sunglasses and sunscreen), pray, be part of your community, and live with the sun and the seasons.
It’s pretty simple – look at our ancestors, who did not suffer from all these hundreds of diseases and conditions. And we’re still counting; it feels like there is a new disease every week! So, the Weston A. Price Foundation really brought me back to my roots, and they are making an amazing difference in the world with their work exposing all these politically correct yet flawed diet recommendations that have been making people sicker every year.
