We had the good fortune of connecting with Dalia Brunner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dalia, how does your business help the community?
I grow mostly all my own Lavender and Hemp in my garden and make all my own products. All my homemade lavender products have helped many people with relaxation and my homemade hemp cream has helped so many people with pain. Many people can’t take prescription drugs so having a natural homemade product is a wonderful alternative for so many people in my community.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is creating products from what I grow in my garden. What sets me apart from others is that I took a huge career change from working at a nursery as a Horticulturist and garden designer full time to working out of my home and the local farmers markets. I’m most proud and excited when I get a call or text that my product has helped someone. Mainly those who are in pain….. It has not been easy getting to where I am. I have had to make and re-make creams and oils so many times until I have come up with a great recipe. It has not been easy for me to get in to farmers markets because a lot of farm managers don’t want hemp in their markets. It has been a challenge for me to try to balance my time making products and learning how to make a web page, social media etc. I would rather be in the garden or kitchen …….
I over came all my challenges by not giving up!! By trying new recipes, by making better packaging and by setting my mind on how grateful I am to have the opportunity to be doing what I’m doing.
What I want the world to know about me, my products and my story is simple…… My motive for starting this business was to simply help people. That’s why I chose the best two products in the world to me…… Lavender and Hemp

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would start them off with a tour of Roger’s gardens in Corona del mar where I worked for many years. Which is truly seven acres of nothing but beauty on top of beauty. Then lunch at the bamboo bistro across the street that serves French Vietnamese food. Then a long walk down Laguna beach main art district. Then a glass of wine and burger at the Laguna hotel on the balcony in front of the ocean

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I work with some of the most amazing creative people!!! I cannot just name one because everyone around me at the Farmers Market has taught me something. I worked for Roger’s Gardens and many other nurseries with people who have taught me how to make beautiful packaging, grow healthy plants etc. I am so grateful to the industry that I have chosen! Working outside with nature has been my greatest encouragement!!!
