We had the good fortune of connecting with Danny Wolfe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danny, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
My end goal and our goal as a company is to be a MSO (Multi Shop Organization) with shops all over the country. By the time I am ready to hang up my hat I hope to have assisted our team with accomplishing our vision and I can comfortably walk away leaving a legacy for my family to be proud of. I also would like to accomplish this at an age young enough to still enjoy life with my family.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our business is amazing. We started in 1989 and have grown the company to 3 Colorado locations (over 100,000 sq. ft. in shop space) with a 4th location on the way. We specialize in collison repairs for all size commercial fleet vehicles from police cars to multi-million dollar fire trucks to RV’s. We started repairing only large commercial trucks and over the past 30+ years have added on the additional departments and locations. What sets us apart from our competitors is our attention to Customer service and quality. We have invested in the customer experience from the start of a repair claim to the time the vehicles deliver back to our customers.
I am most proud and excited about our growth. Seeing the business grow and adding additional locations has been a dream of our family and we have all sacrificed a lot to get to where we are at. Success doesn’t come easy. We have tried and failed, tried and failed multiple times over the years. The key to success is to take risks, don’t give up and learn from your failures. That sounds cheesy but its the easy truth. Don’t be afraid to let others join in on the decision making process. I have learned that trying to make big company decisions on your own is stressful and doesn’t always lead to the best outcome for the company’s vision. Having a team will also help you navigate through the rougher waters in the event the decision chosen doesn’t go as planned. Its also way more fun to celebrate with a group when the plan of attack is successful and blows the target out of the water!
We strive as company to have our brand screamed at the mountain tops by our clients and employees. When there is a need for fleet collision or suspension repairs we hope our name is top of mind. We want our experience to be so good that our clients don’t have to think twice about sending a vehicle to our shops. It works that way with our employees as well. Face it, we are in a world where finding good employees is not easy and if our employees see the value in our brand they will want to show up and give 100% everyday. Happy employees equal happy clients. Happy clients and happy employees makes it easy to continue growing and reaching for bigger and better goals.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
All though my job entails me to be extroverted and social, I actually prefer to hang close to home with family. A week long adventure with a friend would be rather relaxing. We have our usual restaurants and places that we frequent so I would start with visiting those places first. I love to Go-kart and play at Top-Golf so places like Podium and Top-Golf would have to be visited more than once. Besides the BBQs in our backyard with lots of family we would visit our favorite BBQ place, Nordys with a stop a Scheels. Bounce Empire with the kids and Lunch or dinner at the Post in Lafayette. At some point in the trip we have to visit Ocean Prime or Shanahans for a steak dinner. A mountain visit to Vail or Breck with an overnight stay in Blackhawk would hit the itinerary as well.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Many people in my life have contributed to where I am today. Outside of my family there have been life mentors and business mentors. The most important and most supportive have been my father and my wife. My father raised me to be independent, hardworking, and honest. I have been fortunate to work beside my father in our business for many years. He has inspired me to give 110% everyday and take risks outside my comfort zone. Without my father’s role in my life I don’t believe I would be where I am today. My wife has stood by myside in the good and bad times offering encouragement and advice. My character and our business has greatly thrived from our relationship. I know I can lean on my wife in time of apprehension, defeat, and in success. She is my driving force and I can only hope I offer her a fraction of what support she offers me.
