Meet Daphney Poyser | Matchmaker & Relationship Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Daphney Poyser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daphney, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
The thing that I believe helps me to succeed the most is consistency. We have our own ways of being consistently simple and not recreating the wheel, while of course improving on it to make it our own.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Fern Connections was born out of a risk that I took during the pandemic to start something new, and I think that has influenced the direction of our company greatly. We’re not afraid to put ourselves out there, to take risks and do things differently for what suits our business. We stand firmly behind having a non-traditional business model here at Fern Connections, and that’s really what drives us in our mission to approach diversity and inclusion in a different, more expansive and progressive way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I really like Boulder! It’s such a cute city, and for anyone visiting a trip to Bellota is a must. Bellota is a phenomenal Mexican restaurant off Broadway that is serving up some great traditional and sophisticated dishes; everyone I’ve introduced to them has absolutely loved it. Plus, you can’t come to Boulder without attending a CU Boulder game, it’s a true rite of passage. Our family is a big supporter of Coach Prime, and it’s been lovely seeing the team change and grow more diverse over the past year…sko buffs!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Let me start with my daughter Maxwell, who has been with me from the start of Fern Connections. She has been so helpful in our mission to create a brand and image for the business that is unlike the typical company that you would see in the love industry. Additionally of course I have to give credit to the other members of our team – Ryah, KC, JJ, and Kenny – because without them being able to run the company as efficiently as we do wouldn’t be possible; they keep our motor running at full capacity and I am so grateful for that.
