We had the good fortune of connecting with Dawn Zoldi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dawn, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
I have two favorite quotes: “Carpe Diem” (Seize the Day) and “Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You.” Both of these quotes are principles by which I try to live my life: make the most of every moment we have on this planet and do it in a way that respects and values others.
What should our readers know about your business?
My company, P3 Tech Consulting, connects people with a passion for advanced technology platforms with the plans, programs, policies and information they need to succeed. I created the company in October 2019, after I won the Women and Drones Women to Watch in UAS (unmanned aircraft systems) Award for Leadership. This inspired me to move forward on my passion, which is drone law and policy. I had amazing mentors that helped me along the way. In my first year in operation, I could only work on my business part time, as I was still a full time federal employee. That was in 2020. And, as we know, COVID struck. Despite all of this, I was still able to grow the company to the point that in February 2021, I left federal service and jumped full time into P3 Tech. Since then, I’ve grown a global podcast, became a contributor to Forbes.com and grew the Women to Watch Program for Women and Drones to new heights. At the heart of it, my company is all about elevating others who are doing amazing things in the unmanned and advanced aviation space through education and advocacy. I absolutely love what I do!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In Colorado Springs, my favorite bars and restaurants include Fuzzy’s Tacos, the Ivy Wild School, Colorado Rocky Mountain Brewery, Parry’s Pizza, Bourbon Brothers and the Brass Tap. For breakfast, it’s Buttermilks and the Urban Egg. Music venue: Boot Barn Hall. Hiking: Spruce Mountain, Garden of the Gods and Pulpit Rock. Shopping: Promenade Shops at Briargate.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So many people impacted my life and my journey. With respect to my business specifically, my brother, Dan Kopycienski inspired me to create my company and U.S. Air Force Major General Ret. James Poss mentored me as I created it. I’m thankful for them and so many others that helped me along the way.
