Meet Desiree Grimaldi: The Inner Mind Marketer & CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Desiree Grimaldi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Desiree, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
When I decided to work for myself I knew that there would always be room for improvement and in Digital Marketing things change from daily. The single most important thing I did was find an amazing mentor. I was scared to commit to such a large fee being a start-up but I knew I needed to invest in myself if I expected others to invest in me. 

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own 1×1 Impression, we are a digital marketing and design company that specializes in marketing for Mental Health Professionals, Health, and Wellness. I am a huge advocate for therapy and want to be the shouting voice pushing Therapists and letting the world know that Everyone can benefit from therapy, even if they don’t “need” it. I was a nonbeliever in therapy for a very long time. There was a stigma around it when growing up that it was for the “weak”. In my 20’s I found an amazing therapist who I connected with and has helped me work through a lot of childhood trauma and since changed my life. My therapist recommended one day that I write a book, eeek!! I was not ready for that. So instead I wrote a blog called Raised by Addicts. I told many stories about what it was like growing up in a home with parents who were drug addicts and being left on my own at 14. I loved the writing, and the marketing to get my message out. That led me down the path of learning more about marketing and the rest is history. I believe in the power of therapy and I want to tear down the stigmas that surround it to make people more open to the idea of it. I do this through well thought out content, blogs, social media posting, and email campaigns for my clients.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly, I am not a planner when it comes to adventure. I would want to go to downtown areas and check out all the restaurants and small boutiques. I also love music so I would probably end up migrating towards a place with good music.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband has always been but biggest supporter, but he is also the one who gave me the push I needed to commit to taking the next step with my Mentor, Rachel Pedersen. Rachel Pedersen is one of the most genuine people I think I have ever met, and she is the TikTok Queen. She owns Social Media United where she offers a private group full of training and support for thriving Social Media Managers, and she also runs The Social Clique which is what I am a part of, and it is her mastermind group. Being part of the Social Clique and learning from Rachel has brought me and my business to the next level and we haven’t even scraped the surface yet.
